This shave dedicated to one @Terry , who word has it, has caved in to your humble servant's incessant carnival barking about this wonderful 'plastic doodad' edge forward shaving device.

Welcome to the Focus R21 Evolution revolution. May you find the same pleasure in yours that I found in mine.

Go ahead and load one of those Feathers in there (I like GSB) and start low and flat to the face. Start your stroke low and tip up the angle easy till you sense it cutting. Keep the water and the tunes off because the audio feedback is subtle because of the recessed blade holder.

Was a little pressed on time so I M-Bombed me some Barbasol let down with water in my bowl. Only went for 2 easy passes, one WTG, one ATG. Rinsed off and generously splashed on my dad's favorite, Aqua Velva. Walked away feeling great. Not an issue, but I could've let the Barbasol down a little more.

    Have fun, be safe.
If you like it as much as I do we can start up The Max Headroom Chevette Shavers Assn

Good morning, gentlemen. Time here has been limited the past few days. Always lots to do when you're getting close to the move date. A few curve balls have come our way, but we're still moving forward. Schedule still has some moving targets, but all is good. On Monday, my Bride and I will technically be homeless for almost 24 hours...but we still have "home" stuff to do. There's a problem somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it. :)

I get a more or less daily shave with the Mongoose, C.O. Bigelow cream, and the 30 DC LE brush. There have been some days when I needed a quick shave and applied the cream by hand. It works OK that way in a pinch.

I've enjoyed all the photos and reports of fantastic shaves (with DEs, straights, shavettes, and other), new and shiny acquisitions, master enabling, handle fabrication, vacations, and award-winning grand kids! Keep 'em coming! I'm mostly following along quietly, and I'll chime in when I can...especially when there's an obvious opening for shenanigans.

Tears welled up in my eyes when @Hembree spoke of the close knit, like-minded, and warped community we've developed here. (My Bride calls us a worrisome bunch. ;)) Just when I was emotionally broken, he started tempting me with Sweet Tea and those cool handles. And do I understand correctly that @jluc has more knots than brush handles? How can this be? I hope this unnatural imbalance in the shave den can soon be restored.

Congratulations to my Bride! Tomorrow, she will have survived 32 years of marriage with me, following an intense 2.5 year testing/trial period. She's the love of my life, and I've been truly blessed.

    Have a blessed day, gents!

    SOTD:
This was a night shave from yesterday, i was very impressed by the scent and menthol from the proraso, but as you'll see in my review in the soap section, thats about where my love for it ended.

The Wilkinson sword classic performed excellently, as did the Wilkinson sword brush, im definitely a convert to boar brushes now, the split ends are absolutely fantastic once they form, and i just can't see a synthetic being able to compete at least in the same price range.

The feather blade is very very close to being blunt now, ill try my best to get to 40 shaves, but if it tugs before then i will retire it.

    Razor: Wilkinson sword classic
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (37)
    Soap: proraso sapone (green)
Brush: Wilkinson sword classic shave brush premium edition
Aftershave balm: the body shop maca root razor relief.[IMG]

    Good luck with the move!

You did read that correctly, more knots than handles. Something that will need my direct attention upon arriving home. Well that and mowing the lawn. It needed it when we left but it was snowing when I had my window of opportunity.

Besides the color it is cool. Blue would look cool!

    May 15th
    Razor: PAA DOC Ascension
    Blade: Polsilver SI (2)
    Brush: PAA Solar Flare
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: Stirling Iced Pineapple
    Stirling Lemon Chill witch hazel
    PAA Star Jelly unscented
    AS: Stirling Iced Pineapple

Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS with silent alum. I opened the Ascension up approximately 3/8ths of a turn for this morning's shave. Anymore than that I feel would be too loose to keep the head in place while shaving. A good amount of blade feel but I find the end result to be the same. Terrific shaves at every level of aggression.

No shave pic today as I'm still using the same travel gear. Here's a picture of the lighthouse here on the island.[IMG]

Good report, Gary. NO is a great soap. Someday, you'll have to post some "family photos" of your Gillette collection. :eatdrink013:

It looks very nice Danny. I like the translucency of the material. I wonder how slick it will be. Perhaps you could machine in something to help with the grip.

Thanks, Clint. The kids are flying out today and we are leaving tomorrow. Normally I'm ready to get home by now but this has been such a relaxing vacation I don't want it to end.

    Tatara Masamune OC
    Feather
    Duke 3 Synthetic
    Speick Shave Stick
    Guerlain Vetiver EdT

Since I have absolutely zero patience I had to put the Tatara OC to use right away. I decided to use the Speick Shave Stick which was a PIF from @PLAla . I wet the stick and rubbed it on my face ATG. The little Duke 3 synthetic really whipped up the lather with ease. Side by side the Wolfman WR1 and Tatara Masamune razors are very similar in general design and craftsmanship. The Tatara OC seems to have a narrow operating angle that will take a few days to dial in. Even so three passes and touch ups ended in a BBS. My nemesis, aka "lower right neck" was not a problem at all. I did end up with a few operator induced weepers when I failed to keep the correct angle. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
