Thanks Andrew. I appreciate the kind words. I'll have a larger vanity top and natural light in the new den. It should be more conducive to better photos. @clint64 and @jluc should start a photography school. I'd consider enrolling, but they'd enable me to the poor house. I better stick with @RyX and the mail order photography school.
HUMPDAY!!! Great write up and pictures, Andrew! I'm looking forward to the knot trials as you progress through them. The SHD is going to be tough to beat. I have a couple other knots at the same level but none better. Loving the picture of Declan. I can't believe how grown up he looks. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Excellent shave photo and report. The number and availability of quality badger knots have increased dramatically over the last year. With this increase the costs have dropped as well. I am looking forward to your comparison reports. Declan has grown so much. Excellent hump day photo.
Thanks Jim! The Elite Razor's Manchurian White was delivered yesterday and I was going to set it in my Grizzly Bay handle but the socket wasn't wide enough. I have a Turn N Shave Tips knot that should be arriving this week that I'll hopefully be able to set. I may have to modify one of the cheap Chinese handles that I ordered for the Elite knot. And I will probably pull my Maggard mixed knot and replace it with the SHD bulb as it continues to be a shedder. Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Thanks Joseph. WWB is Wild West Brushworks, an artisan handle maker on Etsy. Very reasonable prices and high quality craftsmanship. I own four of his handles now. Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
I can see the enabling commencing. Shame about your Maggards mixed being a shedder. I really like mine and knock on wood it's holding up well. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thanks for the info on the knot. Great photo and gear. Declan has that innocent look of ...... no it was not me.
Gillette Old Type BRW Improved Handle Feather Stainless Omega knot in a Rubberset 300n Arko SS smooshed in the OS mug Dr. Sana Bay Rum First shave since Thursday and was feeling pretty grubby this morning. Went with some tried and true gear. While I don't use it as frequently as in the past, I love the Old Type on the Bob's Razor work handle. Spent some extra time on prep, paired with a fresh Feather blade and was rewarded with a nice comfortable 2 pass shave. Enjoy your day...
Great picture, Andrew! The brush is beautiful, and I am very curious to hear how the know compares to some of your other knots. Terrific picture of Declan!
