I texted @BamaT asking him to post an update in this thread. I tried to call him at home and was referred to his cell. I called the cell and was sent to voicemail. At this point, it seems that the forward progress of the box will be delayed.
Yes, that’s correct, I have been working far more OT than I should under the circumstances (cancer treatments), and haven’t had time to get online hardly at all. I’ve tried some of the soaps and creams, a Shark blade, and a couple of razors. Really liked the Geo.F. Trumper soap and the Marvel razor. The biggest challenge will be getting everything packed back up plus a couple of things I was going to add. May need an engineering degree to get that done.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought we were supposed to have about a week or so with the box, which is where I’m at. I didn’t get it until last Thursday, didn’t get a chance to get into it until Friday night, so I was going to get it shipped out Saturday or Monday which I thought would still be in the parameters initially set.
I don't think there's any trouble if you kept it a few extra days; I think mainly people were curious how you were enjoying the box. I found when repacking I was forced in to keeping a bit more than I had originally anticipated BTW it's suppose to be fun so don't feel rushed ... I also understand when life throws you a curve ball. So take care of yourself and your family first. God bless!
At some point removing items of a less desirable nature so the Holder of The Box can send it long may happen. When placing your additions to The Box if the stuff you are adding is better quality, making room by pulling out lesser stuff ought to be fine. Maybe we can gather enough "starter level" stuff to spawn that Newbie Pass Around. I have some stuff that can be Newbie PIF'd that wouldn't interest the more advanced Members participating here.
I've had time to get more acquainted with a couple of the items I pulled from the box. The Merkur slant razor and a tuck of Treet carbons. I went back and forth on the carbons but after my last shave I've decided I might need more of those. The razor is definitely a keeper.
Glad you like the 37c slant. I found it to be an awesome shaver, and while I figured someone could use it, I just didn't get enough use out of it to justify keeping it. Glad it found a good home
Traveling box is on the way to @cliffb599, should arrive Thursday! Took 4 efforts at repacking the box to get everything back in, plus a few items I added.
