Great shave but I could not own that Timeless. I would never get to use it because my stubble would take one look at the beefy tool and run! A truely beautiful piece of fine machine work and finishing!
I'm not sure it ever would. The glass dish protects the bottom and sides of the hard puck. The lids aren't the air tight, snap on type, but they seal and stack well. Maybe if a refill puck that was in the factory wrapper and improperly stored. The product lasts so long I can't see having more than one back up unless there were rumors of discontinuation. If you kept the Tabac in a ziplock with the ARKO, imagine the scent... Grandma polishing the piano with Pledge! That's one reason for a next day shave. While the zones that got acceptable reduction wouldn't have grown out, the places that need Technique improvement stand out. I've got mine targeted - with the pain stick as other open blades, it's my chin.
A most pleasant shave this morning with the Jeeves Bay Rum soap, followed with Stephan Bay Rum A.S. Once again I didn't shake off the brush enough, and the result was the presence of some suds in the soap. How do you like THEM apples, @wchnu ? If ever there was a "little shake of brush" soap for that to occur again, I'd want it to be the Wet Shaving Products Mahogony. That one REALLY needs extra blooming all the time. The Stephan has never been known(to me anyway)as having a "chick-magnet" scent, but it feels great on the skin and produces a very nice blend of its ingredents. Low on the clove,, which I like.
How do you like that brush Dale? I checked the specs - still a good sized 24mm X 55mm loft, but they didn't mount it in a clunky huge handle.
May 22nd Cooper MonoBilt w PermaSharp (2) Stirling Gentleman Simpson CH2 Synthetic Thayers CL Unconditional Surrender AS I guess I’m a day late for Tobacco Tuesday. A favourite combo nonetheless. Everything worked as it should and I had a very nice 3 pass shave. This is an excellent knot. Although, I’m still waiting on my replacement sticker from Simpson. It has been well over a month and I have basically given up on them. Have a great day all!
Mayhem 2019 Boellis Panama 1924~~Declaration Grooming B5~~dubl duck Goldedge SR #88 I was about to change things up today and use a DE razor, but thought... Nope. So, looking through my comparatively modest selection of straight razors, I chose the DD, which, in all honesty, is probably my favorite straight. Excellent size, tight pins lovely edge, interesting scales. Yup. Me likey. Now, what soap Even though I have culled the herd significantly, I still have too many soaps from which to choose. Side note: Eufros Kasbah and the TSN LE Mediterráneo soon to be added. Decisions, decisions... Ok, decided on an Italian soap, Boellis Panama 1924. This container is so large, it will not sit on my shave shelf, so it has a place of honor right next to my sink. I look at it daily, but don't use it daily. Why is that Lot's of unanswered questions today. Here we go. The DG B5 was completely over-loaded with Almond-Cherry goodness. It took at least a quart of H2O to properly hydrate this product. All the while, the thick, dense, soft tennis ball of a knot massaged my face into delicious submission. Clickity-click sounded the dd as it tinked across my whiskers. plunk, plink, dink, dink. I employed some well-placed skin-stretching, facilitating efficient stubble removal. Once again, WTG, XTG, Chin-work, here and there ATG resulting in a smooth, successful DFS/BBS. Alum was mostly silent. If it has anything to say, it's usually around the chin. Thayer's was applied afterwards, leaving its signature, medicinal smell. Next, came the glacial, unscented Stirling balm, resulting in a modicum of frigidity. Finally, the pièce de résistance: the Boellis Panama 1924 EdT. I feel like a combination of Fellini, Corelli, and Zefferelli, tooling through the streets of Rome on my vintage Vespa, with Claudia Cardinale clinging tightly to my waist. Top that, my fellow shavers.
Wow. Took entirely too long at the post office. But I’m pleased with the results. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fantastic shave report and lineup Joseph. I’m thinking about adding that soap as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
