Razor - Feather DX Artist Club (Pain Stick)
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Soap Commander Courage
    Brush - Jayaruh #312
    Post - Alum

Well my plan to shave early in the day failed, but I did get a shave in. Second round with the DX and Feather Pro. I think I'll stick with this one for a few days. The blades definitely outlast DE blades so no rush to switch out. Besides, I'm enjoying the pain stick at the moment. The grip on the DX is a little different than the Kai or CJB, and definitely than the SS, so I can use a few days to get it fully under control. Soap Commander for the super slick lather and the JR312 for that fake horse effect I do enjoy. Well, I enjoy the horse brushes, and this one is seriously close, so there you go.

Three passes to enjoy the process and I'm near-BBS and happy as a lark for it. (Is a Lark happier than a Robin? Is that why we say that?) Anyway, it was a fine shave and the alum was nearly silent (usual goatee spots) and all's well. Hope you enjoyed your Wednesday!

    Stanley Cup Finals start Monday!!!

  15. Hump Day! Awesome pics of a very unique combo, Andrew. You’ve probably already posted thoughts on Ramblin Man, but I think I missed it. What do you think?
Very nice Rick Pic. You certainly don’t see the Leather very often. I’d enjoy it like I’d never see it again as well.
Cool combo, Robert. What will you have to do to get an injector to work in that Enders?
Straight to the F plate! Are those your only plates, Keith? Which Vetiver is that one, the white label or the green?
Wonderful shave again, Gary. Some of my faves there- Nacets and L’Orange Noir.
You have inspired me. Time to bring out my neglected Soap Commander tomorrow.
Hopefully your Blues will do better than my Canucks- we have made it to the Stanley Cup finals twice since ‘94 and lost in game 7 both times. Sigh.

You should send it to me for adequate disposal.

  17. Test drive on my new honing school candidate, the ZY 430. Marketed as made "shave ready" by their very own "honemiester".

Looked far, far, far better than my other project product of China, so I figured I'd give it a try. Went with the regular routine stropping and prep. @Steve56 didn't think I'd be happy with it......he was right. Very toothy feel. It cut better than the bent up Gold Dollar I just honed, but nowhere near as smooth. 1 pass was good enough to come to that conclusion.

Never could I have imagined I'd be finishing test shaves with a shavette. 2.5 passes with the Focus R21 did the trick.

Now if I can learn to hone my straights to shave that easily...... even a little..... I'll be very happy.

    This is fun!

  18. Great shave, Andrew. It has been fun seeing you bring out all of razors.

That's a wonderful photo of Declan! I just love his smile. It looks like he is calling someone for a snack. :)

  19. Congrats, Randy, but the Quality Control check shows a slightly off-center sticker. Let me know when it shows up on the BST. I'm always in the market for factory seconds. :D

Just having some fun with you, my friend. It's a beautiful brush, and I love the color of the handle.

  20. Jason, the medication really helps. Even this shaving bowl doesn't bother me anymore.
