Gillette Triangle Tech from Canuckistan on a Weber Bulldog handle Rapira Swedish Supersteel (3) Semogue BC Mistura TOBS Avocado SC Things have been hectic and this is the first shave I managed since Thursday. Only a few more shaves in the tub of Tobs and I will be able to knock another partial product off the list. I am making pretty good progress using up softgoods considering how infrequent my shave schedule has become. Today I stumbled through the shave. Two passes and good enough. There was a little roughness in a few spots on the neck and jawline but didnt bother with touchup. No irritation and comfortable enough. I was fortunate to get to spend a few hours on the bicycle today. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet.
A crazy last couple of days around here. My wife, Sherri, has been having a particularly intractable go-around with her chronic nausea. Early Friday morning, we ended up at the ER with what she was concerned might be heart symptoms. Fortunately, that was not the case, but she is suffering from low blood pressure from severe dehydration. She'll be in the hospital until at least tomorrow while they get her blood pressure more stable. Meanwhile, our daughter had been in Ohio all week and I had to pick her up at the airport last night for a flight that got in at 2300. I finally got around to shaving three days of growth this morning. I went with a New SC and a vintage Spoiler blade on its first use. Very satisfying.
Hey now Rick! I just got the wife talked into more room for my "stuff". Don't be giving anyone an ideals like that. Just looking through the posts, had to say I think you need to think about us other guys that haven't got the joy of checking out all the great stuff yet. I just got my first menthol AS in the mail last week. Give us a break. Oh yea, if ya got some stuff that's just to much.... I can send you my address, I wouldn't want you to exceed your storage space. I can even chip in on the shipping. tp
Lol! Well said, Terry! I'm still in the acquisition phase myself. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Got on the road early to get to the hopital that's over 3 hours away. My sister in laws hubby not doing well. Not gonna make it it seems. Thanks for all the prayers! It's just a waiting thing now. So I shaved with the plastic doodad for the first pass and my very gental Cooper razor for the finish and the head shave. Didn't take a photo but got some old pics on my phone. The Cooper is so easy it took 4 full passes to get close to what I'm acostom to. Then get this, it took so many passes on the gord I think I nicked the top of the gord, didn't feel a blemish at the start but there ya go. Oh man! Looks like I'm gonna have to focus the Cooper for a while to make it work for me. I noticed that hair groth direction is a big deal with a gental razor. Also the Focus open blade gets dull in one pass. Trying for two passes with it but it starts to pull on #2 pass. Bummer! Had to change the blade in the cooper 2 times. That makes 2 1/2 blades this shave. To all Enjoy tp
Mostly commiserating with Joseph @Primotenore, giving him reason to be proud of his progress in reducing superfluous gear. So Terry, if you've won a battle of inches and get either more of Her space, or a new cabinet for you that's all good! Not my place to limit anyone's cubic footage. I'm soon to be playing Shave Gear Tetris here. There's a Traveling Box being passed around and I'm on the list. It started as the standard large USPS flat rate mailing container. One of the participants cut thin plywood panels to stiffen the box & protect the contents. It's soaps, brushes, blades, bowls, razors, etc. The trick is to take out what each member likes, and repack the box with the stuff that came in it plus as much more as you can add. No chance of reducing the den with a zero sum gain or loss game.
Does picking up another vintage Williams, 2 tins of Eufros, one ASB and a NOS Keyhole 4 count? Just wondering...
MAYhem Kami-Shavette Focus Stirling Glastonbury SS & AS Vulfix 2235e Super badger Chinese Gold thingie Feather AC Pro blade Face lathered with a badger brush I received in trade from 30DC member Louis @dustmite. Has anyone heard from him? Knowing the floppiness of this particular a dribble of water on the puck facilitated loading. The lather was pasty but loosened with additional water to where I could paint it around. After my WTG pass taking short strokes, the soap was still a bit clingy so I juiced it up some more. Thanks Joseph @Primotenore for the hydration metric! Great residual slip from the lather allowed that buffing like motion, and overlapping passes. I'm getting better reduction on more areas each use of this razor. No nicks today. Good Shaves Y'all!
