  6. Thanks Clint, it is just hard to beat what works. Fine soaps are solid performers and so is the Karves. Hope you have a better week than last week. Take care friend.

  7. Great one Keith. I don't think you ever have a bad shave. I always enjoy your show and tell time.

  8. This morning I took a crack at a Rolls Razor. Short version: not sharp enough. I did give it a few laps on the hone. I don't know if more will help, or if it just needs sent out to be honed. I understand that's usually the case.
It actually was barely passable on the cheeks and neck. But when I got to the chin, the fat lady started singing. So I just relathered and grabbed the Dart. Awesome shave from that point on.

  9. I had an old "legacy" cable modem that was capable of about 30 MBS. The cable company exchanged it for a new modem that has built-in WIFI, threw in a couple of movie channels, and told me I was getting a great deal as a new user. They tried to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge. I guess they forgot I had already purchased it from them a few years ago. I'm sure it was just an oversight. :) Honestly, I can't see much difference surfing the web with the new service. It may help with video streaming.
  10. I thought you should know that my Stoylin box arrived today from Edison Carter. Great-looking stuff, but he included a note saying "Aisle 12...Enjoy!". Piggly sure does get around. :).
  11. Not yet, Paul. I've just got my basics sitting on the vanity top for now. I've been informed that the next task on our list is to install shelf-liner. The pantries get first priority, so we can do some grocery shopping. Once I get to my bathroom closet, all the shave gear is coming out. I'll keep you posted. :)

We're starting to see some progress in our unpacking. We started the week with a garage full of boxes and plastic trash bags filled with stuff. We packed mostly small to mid-size boxes so that they would be easy to carry. At the rate we're going, it may take us a week or two to get everything situated. Thankfully, we have a construction dumpster down the street. I visit it multiple times a day. We continue to thin down and donate items as well. I made a couple of donations today.
  12. Thanks Danny. I never understood why this commercial was so funny...until today. :)

  13. Danny, excellent post and pic. You will get that brand new razor dialed in pronto! Practice makes perfect and it definitely applies to open blade shaving.

  14. Thanks Joe. I may switch over to the Dovo shavette for a while with the 1/2 DE blade. I seem to have more trouble with the longer blades. I think when I cut myself with the Weck a while back it made me gun shy and I lost some of my confidence. I am trying to figure out my focus for next month and I think the Dovo will be a part of it.
  15. Those Rolls are nice when the blades are right. Congrats on pulling off a great shave.

  16. Back when life was simple, the air was clean, and we still had our hair & sense of humor, 150 baud through the acoustic coupler was sufficient. Slo Mo, however, is still cool...
  17. Great progress. .... looking forward to the first shave in the new den.

  18. Thanks Danny. I appreciate the encouragement. I had a quick shave a couple of days ago...hoping for a more relaxed shave in the morning.
