What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Had a fantastic shave with this razor .The more I use this razor the more I appreciate the makers craftsmanship .Awesome balance and ergonomics .Wonderful honing producing a very keen and smooth edge .Just a great razor .Sergei is a true craftsman in my book.

Love ERN Razors.I have two Ators that I am restoring .Can not wait to they are done .Just need the time to finish them up .Work keep getting in the way .

 

You are speaking my language... the Ator is special. Somehow a few have followed me home also . Can’t wait to see yours restored.

 

Most likely the Ern Ators will be done in early July .I am getting married on June 9th and will be Honey Mooning in London and Venice for 17 days . Between work and wedding planning issues I just do not have the time .I am lucky I have time to shave in the morning .

Continuing on with the tomo nagura test, this time #1, the left most one in the honing post. Also continuing with a discontinued soaps theme, today was Williams South African rose stick, lathered with a lifetooshort1971 26mm 2-band. This soap is reportedly a non-tallow soap, not the same formula as vintage US Williams. It’s a joy to use and does the job nicely. RIP Williams rose. A splash of Harris Pink was the perfect compliment.

The shave was a little smoother than the last, so nagura #1 is currently in the lead!

Michael Waterhouse, he's a custom knife maker from Sheffield he also makes the occasional razor, I worked on this design with Michael a few years ago, last time I talked to Michael his Family life was getting pretty busy so he decided to take a break from making razors, he told me one day he will start back up, when that will be I have no idea? The razor has always been a very nice shaver I cannot remember the last time I honed it, it's made from 01 Sheffield steel.
