Great month fellas! I didn't do any mayham stuff, but I enjoyed watching all of the crazy shaves! I got a good month of shaves with my Schick I2. You all have helped me a lot on my journey in wet shaving. It's been a great month and can't wait for next month.
We AREN'T saving money? But I bought at least half of my 25 or so splashes and 70+ soaps and creams on sale! And only two of my razors are new - the other 100 odd were all eBay or junk shop finds! How can you say I haven't saved money?!!
MAYhem 2019!! May 31 Razor - Gillette New SC (Matthew/haunted) Blade - (1) Soap - Stirling Iced Coffee Brush - 30DC LE Post - Alum Final day of May and I shaved at mid-day to get rid of three days growth. As I mentioned before, not shaving every day for the past couple of weeks but I'm getting back on a routine. Decided to finish out May with some class, so I got out Matthew the haunted razor in his fancy gold replate and paired him with the always classic, fantastic and legendary Voskhod. Stirling Iced Coffee for one of my favorite scents and the 30DC LE brush. Three very laid back and enjoyable passes and the razor and blade were smooth as silk and took me down to BBS in style. I love the feel of this razor and the look as well. Certainly different than the first day he arrived looking beyond help. Alum was quiet so all's well. I'm set to go work until late into the night and feeling pretty good. Should be a good Friday. I'll update the total post count for May early tomorrow morning when I'm back in front of my computer, but I'd say we have another fantastic month around here! Thanks again!
Ohhh OK, sorry. I've had my moments of regrettable decisions since joining. Like when I "flipped" my two Chiseled Face aftershaves out of anger that I bought them, at the wrong time of year. It was hot&steamy here and I said to myself "I can't use these now....got to get rid of em." They were Midnight Stag and Sherlock. Both were great, but they cooked my face. I look back now and say "Why dincha save em for the winter, dummy?" We learn things here.
Great setup to finish out the month! Matthew certainly does look gorgeous in his new duds. Very different from the hobo suit he was wearing when we first saw him! Glad to hear things are smoothing out for you again, too.
In the future, I hope to set up a similar Stoylin "seasonal lineup". Might be harder for me, because unlike you, I don't have 23 Stoylins.
MAYhem Kami-Shavette Focus Stirling Glastonbury SS sample B-400 / Omega Pro 98 boar Suribachi bowl, cool water That Shavette & Feather ACPro Stirling Glastonbury AS Seventh use of the Artist Club Professional blade. It's getting tuggy and my technique ought to be improving. The lather was slick, fragrant, and full of lanolin goodness. So after two full WTG passes I still had stubble but not the urge to continue shaving. Next use of the stick I'll have a fresh blade, the scabs from the previous shave should have healed up, and it'll be a new month. I stubbornly refused to do a DE clean up pass. That's only hiding the places where I need to get better, develop correct grips, etc. I'm enjoying the Focus and the better shaves will come. Been a good month, though! The MAYhem was more calm that last year and that's OK. It sets us up for next year. Good Shave Y'all!
Hi everybody! Yesterday was my last shave this month. I just want to say that I enjoyed shaving only with my Dovo razors. Next month, I will be shaving with my Dovo shavette tomorrow and then I will be doing a grab bag focus excluding my shavette. I will be picking the name of the razor out of a box, bowl or whatever to determine what razor I will use that day. I will not place the paper back in the "hat" until every razor is picked. I am excited because it will be fun picking a razor without my say in it.
