I need a word that means "test, try out, experiment." that begins with J so I can give this month a name for myself. Any takers? Maybe there is no such word. I hope there is. Anyway, a solid shave this morning with Stoylin Sandpiper(soap and A.S.). Sandpiper might well be worth a "test" for the heat&humidity. As we know, that's my "focus" for this month-to bring out some winter soaps and see if I can manage them in the summer. I pulled out the Lumberjack(The Soap Exchange)to try, probably at the end of this week or early next week. THAT will be a toughie, but....might as well test it now before it gets sticky, muggy, ugly, you name it. (Talkinabout the weather, not the soap lol).

Very nice looking setup Terry. I lost my father and younger sister to cancer. The disease is really insidious in destroying the body. From personal experiences it drags on much longer than one can believe.

    June 2nd
    Razor: Razorock Wunderbar
    Blade: Permasharp Super (3)
    Brush: Maseto 30mm Finest
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated/HA Grooming Oil
    Soap: HA Shave Cream
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
    HA Face Elixir
    HA Repair Salve
    HA Post Shave Relief Balsam
    AS: HA Aftershave Tonic

    Good morning!

Wow, a lot going on with this shave! I used all the products that I received in the Hemingway Accoutrements sample pack.

I washed my face with the Stirling mentholated pre shave soap per usual then applied the lightly scented Grooming Oil. I don't know that it did anything for the shave. I'm indifferent about it.

I have very little experience with creams and it showed. I struggled, too much water. Took me awhile to get a somewhat acceptable looking lather. Didn't look good but boy was it slick! And the scent, wonderful! Three passes for near BBS with silent alum. Then it happened, I dropped my alum. The same alum block that I've used since starting my wet shaving journey is now in pieces.

Next the Face Elixir. Two drops applied to my entire face. Upon application it felt sticky but dried within seconds leaving my face feeling soft. Color me impressed.

The Repair Salve is lightly scented to my nose and seems to be a moisturizer. Nice but another I'm indifferent about.

The Post Shave Relief Balsam is something I would purchase for the scent alone. Simply wonderful!

Finally finished off with the Aftershave Tonic, excellent scent!

It took a lot longer to type about than it did to use. If I get the shave cream dialed in I'll probably do a full size purchase of the cream and aftershave and possibly the Face Elixir and Relief Balsam.

    Have a great Sunday! [IMG]
