  1. Recall it was actually Gaisman and his Autostrop taking control of Gillette not the other way around

  3. How true, The Gillette corporation at that time is what should of been possibly mentioned ;). Gillette had to give him enfridgement $oneys in to his blade patents and make him part of the board..........

  5. Ultimately It was a pretty complete takeover, Gaisman became Chairman, five Autostrop execs replaced Gillette board members, and King Gillette was soon retired (spring '31) as nominal President in favor of Lambert (in turn replaced in '34 by a former Autostrop exec). Even the Gillette machinery was largely sold off or scrapped.

  9. how do you get razors to work in the Dehaven? I have wanted one but know they take proprietary blades

    Thanks
  10. If you can remove the Model 3 blade from it's spine it can be replaced with an injector or trimmed AC blade. The removal is the tricky part.

The other DeHaven models require an adapter.

  11. Ah i see, do you happen to have any instructions or thread you could direct me too - whatever you used when you first learned how to do it. Which method did you use, and how does it shave?

    Thanks,

  12. Soak the original blade in Dawn or whatever and do your best to remove the blade with a pliers without breaking the blade , at least that's what I've done. Note however that I've been successful less than half the time. I wish I knew a more reliable way to do it.

The one I sold to @Boru62 shaves really smoothly. The one I kept the blade sits more forward in the blade holder and is much more aggressive.

  13. Great thanks. Would you be willing to sell your aggressive one? I love aggressive razors. Also, would you be interested in selling your cobra classic??

  14. I don't own a Cobra Classic.

No I wouldn't sell the DeHaven, sorry.

  17. Anyone know anything about these injector razors? The Single Edge 2.0 by Supply or the ebarbershop Schick type injector razor. The first is relatively expensive and the last is fairly cheap.
Are either of them any good?

  18. Tightly rolled behind and to the left of the the Starcraft brush (the towel is navy blue and has a gold-toned fish on it).

  19. I bought mine from @jmudrick and he'd done all the heavy lifting and passed it onto me at a very fair price indeed.
Would the USA equivalent of WD40 work easier?
It's become one of my favourite razors, you're a gent Jeff.
I have a Model 2 with an adaptor and it's a bit too aggressive for me and I like a bit of blade feel.
You may have got us mixed up here.

When I get them in the right order I'll get back to you.
  20. My VC-1 is very smooth, somewhere above a HFT but not much.
