  6. Excellent. The brush is pure luxury, the razor head is an inexpensive clone and it is smooth and efficient; maybe my favorite. The witch hazel is menthol crystals added ( think Osage Rub plus) and I love it. So the shaves are an 8-9.
  7. Thank you!

  10. Great pics and report, Andrew!
I have a Yaqi High Mountain Silvertip that I paid 24 bucks for. Nice knot although verging on floppy.
I have a couple of tucks of Voskhod that I need to revisit as well. They felt tuggy to me but it's been a long time since I've used one.

  11. Don't think I have enough basics (software-wise) to keep myself entertained all month. But I'll make sure that what I do have sees some daylight. Arko is a perfect start, along with the Turkish Zaza brush. Poking around the web, I see that this brush will set you back a whopping $4 if you find yourself in Turkey. Peanuts, for an awesome brush. Of course it's not quite so cheap over here.

  12. Blair,
Mike's Vetiver is one of the BEST available. His soap base is tremendous. That's my #1 suggestion.
  13. Very nice classic shave Robert.
  14. nice stuff Andrew..
  15. Well, the price I paid for the Stirling was very good. I like Stirling products. I like their barbershop scent, so it was a no brainer here.
But thanks for the suggestion, haven't tried Pomolive so not sure of the sent.
Put it on my try it list.

  16. All three were good looking setups. I'm not a WH user, but I do appreciate the Osage Rub. ;)
  17. Nice shave and picture Robert.

SOTD 06032019.gif Menthol Monday! Applied the preshave soap with the back of a teaspoon because it tends to end up on my fingers rather than my face. While that was soaking in, I loaded the boar brush and whipped up a sloppy wet batch of lather. Fresh blade in the razor, my second from the pack. It felt so much better than the 7th use from the previous blade. Hoping as I get better the blades last longer. Two deliberate, short stroke passes; N to S, and every which way to figure out how to get XTG. Cheeks, under the jaw, and neck all very smooth with no errors. Still a little stubble on the chin, and right up near my bottom lip. Had an exciting set down trying to go N to S from the edge of my lip, but the blade chose to catch. Not deep, but attention getting when you feel that blade grab tender flesh. Not pictured; a splash of Osage Rub, followed by the Proraso Green AS that's kind of light on the menthol but smells good.
    Good Shaves Y'all!
  20. Vetiver comes in many styles, from a dirty earth style to those that are light and have citrus. For an EDT Guerlain Vetiver is on the lighter style and the price to quality ratio is great. Fine makes Fresh Vetiver soaps and AS which are a clone of Guerlain, the scent is close and the soap is also a very performer.

Thank you, a great way to start my day, some George Clinton on my way to work.
