June 4 SOTD: Razor: Karve Christopher Bradley Blade: Personna Blue Brush: Ever-Ready 150 Lather: La Toja Shave Stick Aftershave: PAA Santalum Fumus Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB Another great shave with the Karve, this time paired with La Toja. The lather was goopy and slick, and the razor was smooth. Two passes and DFS. I finished with some Santalum Fumus, and my day is off to a great start. I hope everyone has a great day!
Thank you, Jim! It is an older offering from them, and I don't know if they ever offered it as a soap. It is a smokey Sandalwood scent. Really nice, IMO.
Great picture and shave. The scent profile of Santalum Fumus sounds very nice. I hope your week is going well thus far.
June 4, 2019 Supply Co SE V2 Schick Proline Wild West Brushworks with Tuxedo Speick Shave Stick Guerlain Vetiver EdT A fantastic shave to start the day. The Speick shave stick is very nice but I think the cream is much better in terms of scent and slickness. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby. A splash of witch hazel with menthol followed by Guerlain Vetiver EdT and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
Thanks, Joseph! I was happy that I was able to figure out why the razor was not being refreshed so that I can get a nice shave. I have to remind myself to add more Crox every so often.
Thank you, Clint! It is a fairly typical week, which is a good thing. I hope you have been doing well.
JPG is fine. Looks like the link you are using is broken. Is it being cut short maybe? Have you tried just uploading the image rather than linking to an external one?
06/04/2019 - Shave #2 for June RazoRock 400 Noir Plissoft Synthetic Shaving Brush Salsa Bowl / Timeless Lather Bowl Scuttle Fine Accoutrements – Snake Bite Astra SP Gillette New Type Univinlions (Kai Clone) with Feather Pro Blade Nivea Post Balm Pinuad Clubman Classic The Gillette New Type long comb was a joy to use this morning. This is a smooth shaver and I am amazed at how razors were figured out and nailed down almost a hundred years ago. What I mean is I don’t think we are getting much better shaves out of our new modern razors. They look great and are made out of some wonderful materials. Some are polished to perfection but is the shave that much better? I think I paid $5.00 for this razor at a flea market and the shave just impressed me this morning. It is almost bumping the Karve. Yes, I did admit that. If I put the Weber bulldog handle on this head it would be a hard combo to beat. The Univinlions was great for two passes on the cheeks. No weepers or nicks and the alum was quiet this morning. The Fine Accoutrements soap whips up quick and make a nice, slick lather. Awesome soap! Finished up with some Nivea post balm and Clubman classic. All is hot in Alabama today. We will be in the 90s again today. Take care.
Nice shave this morning with my birth quarter Slim, iced MWF (MWF with Osage Rub in the lather bowl), Voskhod blade, and VIBR to finish up. Not bad at all! Almost forgot my brush, which is very quickly becoming my favorite of all: my new Stirling Badger. Absolutely perfect brush for me. Slightly edges out my Atomic Rocket and Semogue 1305, both of which are excellent. But that Stirling is in another league. C
