Sunday and Monday shaves, Sunday I went large with an 8/8 Silverloaf and then Monday the complete opposite style with a Brian Brown 6/8 full hollow.

Great shave today, with a newly acquired and honed razor. Buttery smooth, 2 pass shave, no tugging at all, WTG and ATG, that left me BBS. Perfect shave. One of the Top makers of razors, ever, in my books.

Razor- C-MON," Blackie", by Carl Monkhouse. Ellicottville NY. Extra Hollow Ground
    Brush- Stirling Boar
    Soap- TOBS Cedarwood
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. Triple Crown Decanter

Traditional Kamisori shave tonight. I put a traditional edge on it, a long while back and it still performs well. I am just learning to shave differently than with others. It likes a flatter angle, almost flush with the skin. 2 pass shave, with DFS results. two small weepers, that weren't felt. No sting with the aftershave.

    Razor- Japanese Kamisori, "Tsurayuki ".
    Brush- Stirling Boar
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
    Aftershave- Arctic Blue

Found this little jewel last year. Carved bone Lewis-Stenger Barber Supply/German made 4/8 shoulderless razor that is very sharp and comfortable to use.

That Koraat is a beauty @Jamie Mahoney Is it close to the actual Filly 14 experience?

Today’s shave was with a re-scaled Gold Dollar, honed up last night to test a tomo, details in the honing thread. The shave was superb, so the tomo is working well with this stone. The soap was Dovo-Merkur/Cibe Uomo/Fiori and Frutti lavender lathered with a Tulip 2. The soap makes a thinner lather but is very slick, and is almost to every ingredient the same as the old Razorock King Louis Lavender, a fine soap. The fragrance is the same too. So everyone that misses KLL, this is your soap. A splash of Agua Balsamica finished up a great shave.

Steve, yes indeed similar, a little stiffer because of the bellied hollow grind.

It was time to refresh my senses to one of my favorite razors. Stainless steel, micarta scales, fancy laser etch. This is supposed to be known as 'the edge retention king', sure hope so. This and my first Sunday Shaver make up my targets in my 'Adventures With Harry Headroom, Home Honer' episodes.

I really do like this Et Tu. Opens a little more 'earthly' than current Brut splash. If that opening was a hanger, it would be a negative for me, but it mellows to the nice blend that had to inspire the 'essence of man' subtitle.

Tonight's shave was with a Russian Beauty. Haaaa!!! It was a restoration razorI got from Russian a long while back. I had a perfectly smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero issues, from this Very Noisey razor. I recommend everyone have at least 1 vintage Russian Razor. Not the most beautiful, usually, but fantastic shavers.

Razor- Stiz, "Dawn", Made in Moscow. 1975
    Brush- Stirling Boar
    Cream- Derby Lavender
    Aftershave- Florida Water

NOS 5/8+ Vintage Towa 8074 Straight Razor Extra Hollow Ground, Extra Tungsten Steel H. Diamond

Had a near perfect shave with this NOS Japanese blade .Factory honing was great .I just did 100 laps on Linen and 80 on Leather to refresh edge after being stored away for 74 years .A Veteran brought it back from Japan in 1950 .
This blade remove two days of growth with out effort .It just whisked away the whiskers .Very happy with this blade and it has earned a place in my rotation . rps20190604_231221_910.jpg

That was a great purchase Mike @M14Shooter! If I had to lose, glad it was to you.
And I know you had some ATORs on your “to do” list, so I thought I could post some inspiration... :)

I think I may have some bookend models here. ERN was granted the ATOR trademark in 1903 and the bottom celebrates a Grand Prize won in St. Louis in 1904, so figure this is their early model. I used the larger 13/16” later model this evening. Really not sure of that date... maybe 30’s.

I was in the mood for a no-nonsense shave this morning having some things to do, so today I didn’t want to fool around with the shave. The razor of choice was the Filly 14 Sub Cero, cream was SMN and a splash of Myrsol followed.
