    Good evening, men!
    SR shave #79
Tonight, I blindly picked my vintage F W Engels 5/8 square point. This razor is pretty sharp for a 100 yr old razor. The sound of scraping toast is music to my ears. Decided to use my Rocky synthetic brush to lather Van der Hagen Luxury soap. I like this soap more wet than goopy because I find it gives me better results. In reality, this soap doesn't approach the Stirling standard, but it still does the job. With my normal amount of passes and touchups, I got a nice IBSS+, with a slight nick on my neck. I took my eyes off the razor for a split sec that caused a nominal wound. However, cold water and styptic pen took care of it. Also, whenever I get too comfortable using a straight razor, then I become inattentive and it sometimes causes my mishaps. Anyway, this razor is amazing and I really appreciate it's beauty, performance and history. Finished the shave with Old Spice.
    Result Grade 95 = A
    Guys, have a good night!

Thanks, Andrew! Although this razor may not be the prettiest in my den, it really is one of my favorites! Let me be honest, all my straights are my favorites! Although there are some that are more favored than others.

Thanks, Clint! Vintage straights represent a time in our history when life was simpler. The nostalgia of shaving with these 100 yr old straights is immeasurable.

Dale, great shave. I don't have to go after the BBS for every shave. I am secure in the knowledge that I can at any time. Sometimes, a quick shave is necessary and that's fine by me.
