Oh, didn't know it was a bay rum scented. I prefer not to use clove scented products. Fortunately Osage Rub is on the shelf at several shops near me. Very nice! I've about given up on Type F, but a D is becoming pleasant to the eye. Are you near the factory where they were made? Everyone raves and I'm still looking...
It is meant to be I think, the yellow version is for sure. But the green isn't really, the bay is even more obscured by the camphor and eucalyptus than the pine is.
The shaving gods are smiling on me this week Rick. I think they are setting me up for the open blade comedy hour that will happen here in the den this week. If you don't like a razor that's a close shaver like my MMOC, it will be tough on ya though. tp
I'm a Fat Boy on 9 with a Feather shaver. Love a Fatip, Red Tip, and Merkur Future clone DE shave, too. Really prefer aggressive DEs. Looks like I may have a Cooper 3pc headed my way shortly. I was told it's on the bitey side. Can a Safety razor be more aggressive than a kamisori style shavette with a Feather Artist Club Pro blade? Reports as the hardware comes available!
Went uptown to get food. Wandered through the antique store for 5 min. Found these for 20 bucks. They are in good shape with no rust or corrosion. A little cleaning and good as new. Can never have to many GEM MMOC's. At $10 a peice, well.... tp
Fluked out today by visiting a small antique store on the way home from a larger city and came across my my birth year razor - a Gillette 1959 E4 Fatboy that has hardly been used IMO for a bargain price. Tomorrow will have to give it a reasonable try out on setting 5 or 6 with a Gillette 7Oclock SP Black, it sure feels nice in the hand. Have some great shaves!
Flea mall finds from Monday. The Currier & Ives is an empty bottle but I just liked the bottle. Full bottle of Yardley of London King Arthur. It passed the wife's smell test after she turned her nose up at it. A nice little Gem. She is showing a little brass in some areas on the head. The handle will also fit my lather catcher that I made the wood handle for.
