Been using my Blackland in the Barracks this week. Shaves like a dream. I really can't tell the difference between the shaves with this and my Rockwell 6S. I do get more blade life from the GEM PTFEs. @wchnu , you are absolutely right. The Dorco Pace blades are only good for paint scrapping, if that. I'm glad I brought an extra GEM PTFE with me yesterday morning. If I wanted to get my hairs pulled instead of cut I'd use a cartridge.

Yup those things suck. I do not have any of those stainless thingies around. If you need a care package sometime let me know. I will find some to send.

Oh, I'm good on blades. I have PALs, GEM SS, and GEM PTFE. I'll use the Dorcos at work for my scrapper/utility knife. I have a box to get out to @ordinaryshaver and you. It's a box of stuff that is full of stuff that is purchased from the local vendors. I think you'll enjoy it.

    Williams Mug Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #273 Synthetic
    AutoStrop A1
    Valet AutoStrop (3)

    Florida Water

This it the third shave with the Valet Autostrop blade. My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #273 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the AutoStrop A1 razor with a Valet AutoStrop blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Another grey, wet, and miserable June day here, but at least the shave was a good'un.
    Happy Shaving one and all.

After seeing an advert I think posted by @jmudrick elsewhere that the blades were designed to shave at a wide angle so you can just follow the contour of your face after laying the razor flat on the face I decided to put that to the test. I also realized I've probably been holding the handle wrong on this razor also and should hold it towards the back because of the balance and let it run over the face like a record needle over vinyl. Short answer is 5 passes later the shave was as good as the prior shaves doing this with minimal pressure and letting the razor find the angle except when it loses contact and wants to swing off the face. The ATG pass is the only one that is bit tricky to do this but practice makes better.

Blade is definitely not spent and good for another shave or 6. At some point I'll test this with other schicks that the balance and contour of the handle is more evenly spread across the razor. Another razor I also need to try this with since the handle balance is similar is the Gem Contour II and see if the shaves improve.

Well a week of testing the Improved Stoll/Kampfe-Star 1914, has placed this razor in my Top Tier. I LOVE IT!

I might be going a little over the top on this one, but I can't help it....It hits all the right buttons with me.

Up late this morning after another disturbed night, so need to go to the Doctor and missed morning Shave. Maybe should do this more often, with around 7 hours more growth and a good lather, the Shave was very smooth and the
overall finish made recent Shaves fall by the wayside.
