These pictures were taken at the Artists Paintpots in Yellowstone NP. The portion of the loop trail around the pots is less than a mile. However, in this small area the diversity of the geology is amazing. Some pools/pots are clear; some are milky blue. Steam. Wonderful colors. These were taken with a Sony a58/Tamron 18-200mm.
Took these a few years ago, the coal level in question was owned and worked by a good friend of mine Stephen Jones, the level was the highest worked coal level in the UK, the coal was still cut by hand drams loaded by hand, then hauled by Horses, could be 100 years ago, could you believe these photos were shot in the 1990s.
