    06/13/2019 June Shave # 6.5

Parker CHST – Chrome Handle Silver Tip
Salsa Bowl / Timeless Lather Bowl Scuttle
    Fine Accoutrements – L'Orange
    Astra SP Blade
    Nivea Sensitive Post Balm

I broke focus again this morning and brought out the Fine Marvel razor that came in yesterday. This thing is a dripping in chrome. Very impressed with the finish on the razor. It is a very smooth shaver and I would like to spend about a week with this razor and really get it dialed in. No nicks, weepers and the alum was just noticeable.

The only negative comment I have about the razor is the threaded bore for the head is bored slightly off center in the handle. I thought this would be a problem but when the handle is screwed onto the head and tightened it is where it need to be. There is a raised round “boss” area on the under side of the bottom plate and the handle is lined up perfectly when tightened down.

The Parker brush whipped some heavenly Fine soap lather and overall it was just a great shave. Finished with Nivea post balm.

Y'all take care and we are off in little while to take the granddaughter to the water park. I just hope this old man survives.

Beautiful shave of the day, i cant resist using arko, its absolutely fantastic stuff.
Perfectly slick lather with plenty of protection and a stick of it lasts forever!
This one has a minimum of 24 uses on it and its barely shorter than it originally was, maybe 2mm or so shorter, so it will definitely last more than 100 uses for sure.

Usually i dont face lather with the Wilkinson sword classic shave brush, but it performed beautifully, definitely a fantastic beginners brush.

    Razor: Wilkinson sword TTO
    Blade: Personna lab blue (9)
Brush: Wilkinson sword classic shave premium
    Soap: Arko shave stick

Mark, beautiful picture and gear. The handle on the Wolf looks like it would be uncomfortable. Do you find that to be the case?

I think my focus is using razors with sharp edges.

I have this balsa strop, loaded with FeOx on one side and CrOx on the other. Before today's shave,
I took a page out of Keith's playbook and gave the Dovo a few laps on the FeOx,
followed by 40 laps on the SRD strop.
Mos def, a better result than last time. Was is a "buttery" shave? Not sure. Truth be told,
I am not sure I would recognize a "buttery" shave. I do recognize tugging and dullness and
there was none of those today.

The MWF was really great. By the third pass, the lather has really settled in and is devoid of
the airiness sometimes associated with it. I still get some tobacco/vanilla. Subtile, but there.
Alum was quiet. Thayer's was refreshing and I am kind of into the "old school" Aqua Velva.
