  1. Oh I know it is.....it's just that posts fly right along here, as we know.

  2. It's some cup from some Lord Stanley or something like that. Apparently he lost it and it keeps turning up here and there. We'll take care of it for at least a year. We can always surround it with World Series trophies to keep it company. :happy088:
  3. Ohhh..very sorry Terry.

  5. There's gonna be a quiet bunch of gym rats next time I go. Me-no ,matter, I'll just do my workouts as usual.

  6. Nice razors, Danny. That is a pretty good price. The 1914 are great razors.

  7. Y'know, Neal, that Boston-St. Louis rivalry goes way back to the 1946 World Series, if not before that with the Boston Braves(also in the National League).

  8. I didn't like the way Comissioner Bet Man kept saying "Come get your (this/that)". Mighta been more professional to just say "Congratulations".

  9. It is one of the least talked about but probably fiercest rivalries, if you base it on fan reaction. The Red Sox/Cardinals, the Rams/Patriots, especially after the whole "spygate" scandal and the Bruins/Blues all are hot rivals. Well, the Rams not so much anymore but we don't care about them. L.A. can do with them what they want. Of course, losing the Cup back in 1970 AND creating that iconic image of Orr flying past the goal on the trip was definately on everyone's mind around here the past couple of weeks. Plus, the Blackhawks fans can stop asking us how we drink in STL without a cup. If there's a bigger rival to STL sports than Boston it's Chicago. I say we team up and go get them.

By the way - loved the billboard that showed up in Boston this morning. "Congrats to St. Louis - Now Boston Has the Blue". Classy salute.

  10. Well Bettman isn't anyone's idea of a great commish, that I know of anyway. Although he's done pretty well in the position moving the sport forward. Hey, it's hockey. Literacy and class - not necessarily the most sought after qualities.

  11. I'm not gonna beat you all totally to death with hockey stuff but one more requires sharing. Some of you may have heard about Laila Anderson, the 11 year old girl with HLH, an extremely rare disease that was more or less adopted by Colton Parayko and the Blues. She is a true superfan. Raised going to hockey with her dad and she is an awesome spirit. They flew her to Boston for the game and, by the way, thanks Boston for your reception and love you all showed for her. Anyway, the post-win celebration included Laila and every sportscast in the Lou today has pointed to that as the best part of the entire win. If you missed it, here's a look.

  12. If a Stirling Glacial isn't heavy menthol what is?

  13. This one has a lot of menthol, it is really on the edge for me using it with straights. This razor has a very 'kind' edge and a muted point or I would not have used this soap.

  14. Thanks, Danny! I also bought 2 pucks of Razorock soaps as well. I got such a good deal that I couldn't pass on it.
  15. Research is very important on any purchase, especially with razors, and shaving accessories. Blair, I wish you continued success in getting great deals.

  16. Thanks, Clint! Proraso is a safe choice, but there are some shavers that aren't impressed with it. I just wanted a soap and aftershave that wasn't too strong. It is good to expand my horizons.
  17. Thank you, Doug!

  18. Just the Basics June!!

    June 13

Razor - Gillette NEW LC Delta Echo
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Stirling Black Ice
    Brush - The Canuck
    Post - Alum

Let's shave, shall we? As @Bama Samurai so wisely pointed out last night, late in the third period of the game, my night was about to get fun. All I can say is the fans kept me very busy and we all had a great time. One thing that was strange - the expected surge in downtown STL never materialized. Normally we expect the "surge", or price increase based on demand, to rise after a major event. St. Louis had two major events last night. A Phish concert at SLU, and the two major downtown watch parties for the Blues at Enterprise Center and Busch Stadium. We had surges pop up before the game started as people moved downtown, but those surges were out in the 'burbs as expected. At the end of the game as we all sat waiting for that money to rain down? The surge once again appeared........in the 'burbs as people were trying to come downtown to party. I managed to be in a pretty good spot to take advantage when it started but the gridlock kept me tied up downtown for awhile. I made some other runs but the surge passed and NEVER appeared downtown. Nobody was trying to leave. The team was met at the airport at 4 a.m. this morning by a large group of fans and several of the players showed up at Enterprise around 5 a.m. to sign autographs and celebrate with the fans. Don't think I'll ever see anything like that again.

Anywho - I shaved, right? Yes I did. Stayed with the Gillette New LC and the Russian Voskhod. Hmmmmm. Russians sure do like hockey. I chose the Canuck brush, from two of my favorite Canadians. Hmmmmm. Canadians sure do like hockey. The soap? Stirling Black Ice. Hmmmmmm. Hockey is played on ice.

Three passes, with a brief intermission between each pass, and in the end I shut out all irritation and blood and ended up with a perfect result. Probably good enough that I should perhaps be given a trophy for it. Ah well, I'll settle for a cup.

Enjoy your Friday and start to the weekend! Parade starts at noon on Saturday on Market Street!
