Just a couple of notes as we approach the coming weekend. First of all - if we can't create as much excitement and have as much fun as the Blues then we're amateurs! The guys are currently in Vegas partying with the Cup. I'll track them this week and see if maybe we can fly out to hook up.

Well, ok, so maybe not but......I believe we have everyone arranged to be picked up from the airport who needs it. @BaylorGator I have told my guys to create a safe perimeter around you to make sure you suffer no harm while here. I guarantee that as long as they're sober you'll come to no harm. That should take us to around 9:43 a.m.

Rod will be bringing 30 sets of Blood on Steel I believe. If that's what I told him. For those not attending the meet up it will be available on his website but will not be available in bulk purchase. I have some notes down on brush preferences if I can find them again on the disaster I currently call a desk. I'll go back through PM's and all. Those attending - first shot at the brushes. Those not attending - I'll be in touch next Sunday.

Friday night is all on you guys coming. There are some pretty nice restaurants within a short walking distance of the hotel. If anyone wants to get together you can let us all know. We did have an informal dinner last year thanks to Charlie. I can make some recommendations if you need them.

Breakfast - 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Golden Corral, 1850 Zumbehl Road, St. Charles, MO. If you need a ride from the hotel there speak up. We have a couple of people driving so carpooling is possible or I can pick up as well. No worries.
We'll break after breakfast to let you do your own thing for awhile. Antique shops on Main in St. Charles and you can find lots of other shops down there too. Or take a nap, terrorize Main Street, whatever you'd like.

Dinner - 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Hendrick's BBQ, 1200 S. Main, St. Charles, MO. Literally right next door to the hotel. Unless you're at Ameristar then it's like a mile away. I know because I give cheapskates rides from the casino to that hotel. Takes 1 minute, pays nothing and they never tip.

Once dinner is done or they kick us out of the joint the night is yours. No plans for Sunday unless something gets made on Saturday. If you need return transportation to the airport let us know. Someone will get you there.

One note - I am a loving and kind husband with a wonderful and loving wife who mostly understands this crazy place we call home at TSD. When I scheduled this I was quite sure that it was the weekend that would work best for everyone. Only one minor glitch - Thursday is Jennifer's birthday. No biggie really, she doesn't celebrate it that much. However, Friday, June 21, the first day of Summer - well, she likes to celebrate that one. It's our anniversary. Kind of slipped up on me there. Nothing changes, however, as my natural wit and charm (not to mention amazing good looks) have kept me fully in her good graces. However, her workload of clients may make it impossible for her to join us for both meals. If she is able to attend for one or both just smile knowingly and confirm that her husband is, despite all of his amazing attributes, an idiot at times.

I think I get into STL at 6. Don’t hold up dinner plans with your wife on my account, but let’s touch base when I get there for sure. Open invitation also extends to all interested parties.

 

There's supposed to be an artisan shave shop in St. Charles...can't recall the name just now. I hope some of you visit it.

I'm arriving about 2pm Friday, and will have a car. I'm staying at the Ameristar casino, and will be taking Keith from the airport to the casino around five pm. I'm renting a small SUV (supposedly) and probably have room for two more, and could help with transfers. The casino is a very short drive from the airport. Also, I don't drink alcohol, so if people wanna imbibe and chat Friday night, I can handle driving people back to hotels and whatnot.

 

We may be on the same flight. I may see you at DIA.
We got a car as well. We're staying close to the BBQ!
