Sweet looking '48 you have there Andrew. Never heard of Silver Star Duridium blades b4, how do they shave?

Thanks Guy! The Silver Stars are vintage carbon steel blades. I've not found a carbon steel de blade that I've liked, vintage or modern. But I believe time was not kind to the edges of these blades. I mainly bought them for the cool dispenser but thought I would give them a try for the fun of it. After two strokes I knew it wasn't going to be a good shave so I swapped it out for the vintage Kmart blade (rebranded American Personna, I think). Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Thanks for the feedback. Years ago I was able to try Treet black beauties (carbon steel) and got a couple of good shaves from both of them but as we all no YMMV.

Just the Basics June!! June 17 Razor - Fatip Piccolo Blade - (2) Soap - Stirling Orange Chill Brush - Stirling Two Band Synthetic Post - Alum Welcome to Menthol Monday! Late, I know, but hey, it's been a busy day. Put the van in the shop to get the A/C recharged, Jennifer had a group therapy session tonight and I went out and hauled food around. Came home and ate, and grabbed the Stirling Orange Chill to get the menthol going. Very nice orange scent to this soap and the menthol, while not at Glacial level, is indeed present and very nice. The Stirling synthetic made it ridiculously easy to lather and the Fatip and Sharp Star were smooth and deadly as always. Three passes, BBS, and the day is done. Hope your Monday was a good one and here's to a great Tuesday!!

Delayed Father's Day Travel SOTN Well, a little complicated vacation trip to Orlando with the family on Father's Day left me without a shave that night - however tonight's shave WAY more than made up for it because it was with gear that my daughters surprised me with on the trip for my day . I know - I included too much in the photo - but they presented me with the Ikon Deluxe Open Comb Razor on Bulldog Handle (beautiful) as well as the Ogallala Bay Rum / Sandalwood soap. My wife loves the identical scented travel shave stick hence the full size soap (great choice ). OMG was it a truly incredible shave. A truly efficient razor that looks killer when mowing down the beard with a heavenly scented soap that lathers bountifully and with ease. I can already tell this gear is going to get a lot of Den time... I hope everyone else had a wonderful Father's Day Weekend! Cheers Gents! Josh Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
