Unknown brand of folding kamisori. Came in this morning and already shave tested it.

Yesterday’s shave, Tanifuji 13/16 Swedish Steel BāBā, cream was AdP latered with a Simpsons 58 and a dab of AdP balm finished things up.

Today’s shave was shave #7 on the blue Sub Cero, cream was Harris Marlborough lathered with a Keyhole 3, and a splash of Agua Balsamica topped off a perfect shave.

I've had pretty good luck with these old hardware co. straights. The quality can be very good.

Wanted one of these from the first I saw them.
    Rasoir Sabre "My Fine Steed".
Missed out on the first batch of these.
    Not this time!

    Decades old, multiple strike forging.
    52100 high carbon steel.
Hand ground on vintage 2 wheel grinder.
Honed and sharpened with pride, and sold with 'Do Not re-hone' I instructions from the manufacturer.
Yup, it is sharp. Now my top.

Been looking for an edge to compete with a half DE shavette. This is real close. The best shaving straight I've ever used.

    My shave
Cleaned off the oil, 10 cycles on horsehide and off I went.
    Great shave!

I used my 100 year old 15/16 Wostenholm near wedge square point. It is my favorite razor. 20190619_084628.jpg 20190619_084628.jpg

I didn't remember having this razor, lol. The J.M. Fraser's is a blast from the past. In addition to their original cream they had Mosswood and an Oriental scent, IIRC. Pretty good stuff. Have a good one.

Heljestrand MK 33, soap was vintage Strop Shoppe Black Tie tallow lathered with a Persian Jar 2. A splash of Myrsol Plastic finished things up. BDBS, this is one of those razors that you don’t seem to have to do much shaving, the whiskers see it coming and just jump off your face....

This baby has been holding it's edge really well. Think I'm upto 20ish shaves of my own and no issues with the edge degrading at all. No touch ups. Just leather stropping.

This morning though it kept on proving it's quality as it shaved my wife's legs really well. Had to bust out a DE unfortunately for some tough angles. But better that than a cut up wife. Had her preoccupied with a foot soak and asked if she would like a little pampering. After I was done, I asked how she liked her first mostly straight razor shave. She was baffled. Heheh it was great.

Nice! You’re right they don’t show themselves quite often, but when they do everyone seems to have one. I think I’ve seen four sotd featuring them this week lol
