In 1975, I picked Jerry Vale up from the Cleveland Airport driving a complete junker van with "3 on the tree".
No matter if you load it, shoot it, pound it, OR shave with it..... When it shows up in the mailbox, its beautiful. At least I think so.... tp
Received a few packages Mystery “Gillette” which is super weird. The base plate looks like it’s an unfinished razor. It’s metal but not aluminum but just as light. It feels like I can snap it. Do any of you remember those old plastic mold machines? That’s what this reminds of Travel Gillette Gillette lot with a free ranger tech
Arrived today. The SV enabled from a number of posts on the 30DC, the Myrsol also, plus several commenting/showing it in the 'What Straight did you use today' thread. The Cella PS, just because I like Cella, and to get the free shipping. All 3 winners from the initial sniff test. And I'm done with SAD for a good while. A few RAD purchases in route, but from overseas, so may be early July.
That s beauty Terry. I picked one up like that at an antique store last week put put it back. I just did not need it and I have a silver version. The one I was looking at was not as nice as yours. Congrat!
just arrived..from a fine member here.. the case is from a 1920 pocket edition old type and a ndc gold ball end tech..
Thanks Danny This one was not as good looking when I got it. A little lovin and scubin to make it all pretty. Some like the old look, me I like the shine, and brass is easy to make shinny. Haven't got the nickel plating set up yet, but that's in the works. tp
I probably would have bought the one I mentioned but the price was a little high for the condition. I love to shave with my shovel head mated to a Weber bulldog. The Weber just wakes the little razor up. Take care Terry!
thank you..yes Danny ,you are right..i wanted a nice gold ball end handle to use with my new sc razors.they are head heavy with the hollow handles..i like a solid handle ,it has better balance than the hollow ones for me..the case is for my canadian new sc as it came caseless.i will add a new interior to the case..i love the design on the case..will be a personalized canadian new sc set with my rare canadian blade bank..my favorites per se case with new/used insert from a too far gone 40s gillette case..had no liner when i got it.. the finished product..
Picked up four old timers today. The pocket knife is a Schrade Old Timer Middleman model 34OT. It the older generation with carbon steel blades made between 1964 & 2004. The other three are Gillettes. Single Ring model 102 if I've identified them correctly. The top one in what's left of it's gold wash is a 1906. Middle in tarnished silver is a 1920. The shiny but spotted on the bottom is a 1921. Going to try the hot water, baking soda, aluminum foil silver polishing trick next.
just arrived and deals on crabtree and evelyn..its disappearing folks .if you like the lime its on sale.. proraso red cream and lea sandalwood ..
Nice haul Rick! I'm pretty sure I have that same knife, my grandpa have it to me when I was a kid. Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Discontinued? Another product I didn't get to try. Who has it on sale? Thanks Gary! I do & will not be able to resist using one of them for my next shave. Probably the other two for shaves the next two days! The good news (for others ) I'm not a Collector, just a User. When I figure out which I prefer I'll find new homes for the other two. Thanks Andrew! Like Schick Injectors, I may have passed up Single Rings not knowing what they were about. I was young and foolish just a couple years ago. The pocket knife is my favorite size and type. Currently EDC a same size Buck with stainless steel blades. Got a several grandkids that are coming up fast so I need to be ahead on my count when I start passing them out. Just like razors I don't mind sharing the extras, but I will keep my favorite.
