  1. June 21st
Gillette Single Ring Old Type w Polsilver (1)
    TGN Finest/Maple handle
    JOHS Key Lime SS
    Florida Water
IMG_2303.jpg First day with the recently oft-mentioned Single Ring. Whipped up an ok lather (I usually get better, user error for sure) and had 3 very nice passes early this morning. Much as I suspected, the shave with this SR is very similar, if not nearly identical, to the same vintage ball-end Old Type. The usual semi-loud, semi-aggressive, mostly awesome shave with an Old Type.
I did have a different end to the shave today, though. I always apply Thayers Witch Hazel after a quick cold water splash. I keep it in the same blue glass type spray bottle as the Florida Water is in. Yup, today I lathered on a whole bunch of m-bombed Florida Water when I wasn't exactly expecting it, thinking I was splashing on unscented non-alcohol Witch Hazel. Woke up in a hurry, I assure you.

    Have a great day, all!

  3. Great shave and photo Jason! Those old types rank pretty high in my book. And a great big ole splash of Florida Water isn't necessarily a bad thing!

  4. I agree, Danny, so long as it isn't blood on the razor blade.
