    Cold Water Rinse
    Amalfi Basil Lemon
    Jayaruh #367 Badger/Boar
    Kamisori
    Feather Artist Club
    CWR
    Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Vintage Life Amalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #367 Badger/Boar brush. I did two passes with the Kamisori shavette razor with a Feather Artist Club blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Lilac Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Steve’s (@oscar11) Brian Brown Kami inspired me to take this Ed Brice for a spin.
Symmetrical grind and a unique tang set this one apart for me.

Late post today! Decorated spine Henckles 472, along with its sibling, a Puma Inox, both modified into shorties for the Japanese market. They were both NOS when I got them, and the modifications are ‘factory’ quality. The 472 is light as a feather and shaves very much like a Dovo Bismarck that hasn’t been overground by the Master Solingen grinders (/H)

Cream was SMN lathered with a TOBS brush, and a splash of Myrsol AB finished up.

The 472 is in my travel kit, the Frozensteel Puma is expensive to replace and is a bit particular about the hone, so I use it mostly testing jnats. The Puma was replaced in the kit by a Henckles 72.

Mk10 had its shave test tonight. Nice blade very comfortable, good shave but could have been better. I think a little more time on the stones and it’ll be a real winner.

Totally agree... as your red gem is a great example.
There are some high quality artisans out there.

    Wooo hooo!

Jamie, if you listen very carefully to that razor, I think you will hear it saying "send me to that Edison Carter fella".

Shave #8 on the Filly 14 Sub Cero user, soap was MdC agrumes lathered with a big luxurious Simpsons 59. A splash of Myrsol limon made for a perfect shave.

Would it help if I said that you can't always believe what you don't hear?

Thanks Bill, I like the blue also - I need to re-lacquer the lyre though. It isn’t just you, you’re right. I want to do an edge longevity test with the Sub Cero to see if the edge holds up better than the ‘regular’ Doble Temple. But I didn’t wan’t to do a 2-month run or more with the same razor, so I’m just working it into daily use more often.

What are your normal expectations on an edge?

I got about 65 shaves out of a Doble Temple and a Cape 1000 Swedish Steel, but felt it was pushing it a bit. I think about 45-50 is more reasonable. I am using only fabric/leather, and I’m doing 2-passes each shave with a small ‘cleanup’ afterwards. Both of those razors still shaved well enough as far as whisker removal went, but the edges began losing smoothness at around 55 shaves.

Today's shave was with a Newly acquired and honed razor. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Zero issues. Just a fine old razor.

Razor- Joseph Rodgers & Sons. "The Hamburg Ring". England.
Brush- RazoRock 400, and WD Badger.
    Soap- AOS, Kingsman. Bourbon
