Gen 1, 7/8 Filly 14 user grade, this razor has always seemed a little stiffer than my others, and boy will it mow down the whiskers. Soap was ABC hard soap lathered with a Simpsons Keyhole 4, and a dab of ABC almond AS balm topped off a perfect shave. ABC is one of the most expensive product lines there is, but there’s no disputing the in-shave and post-shave performance, it’s at the top. The hard soap I think can only be bought from the ABC website now, but it’s harder, there’s more of it, it’s cheaper, and every bit as good as the cream, though it seems to lack the cherry component to the scent, it’s just almond.

Nice shave this morning. I've used Fine soaps before but it's a first for this scent and I really like it.This Thater is a beast. I've had it quite awhile and it just doesn't want to give it up and break in. I should have another boar coming this week so I think I'll stick with them and use 'em like a government mule for a bit.

That is one Beautiful Razor that you have there. The intricate design on the razor is very interesting. The brush looks great too.

And c&e sienna. This soap was my first ever soap and I still haven’t made a dent in it.

First time out for two razors this morning, a French 6/8 l’Espagnolette, and a Challenge Cutlery Blue Steel 4/8 for trimming. Both were honed up yesterday and the details are in the honing thread. ABC hard soap was still out so it made a repeat performance, lathered with a TOBS brush and topped off with a little Myrsol Limon. Both old razors shaved very well indeed and are ready for the next 100 years.

I am back home from 10 days in the motherland. While I enjoyed my Karve and Feather DX on the road there is nothing like having a SR shave with nice blade. The big 8/8 Friodur is as sharp as it is smooth.
