Thank you Jim. I was surprised by how much I liked the WSP Barbershop scent. Asha picked two winners with WSP Barbershop and WSP Matterhorn.
Thanks, Danny! I had plenty of practice by using that gift to make high school Chemistry interesting.
Mixed media Shavette Fu catch up post. Thanks Jim! Not trying to cut you out of having a back up Single Ring, but it's like when you get a new vehicle and start seeing them all over town. I haven't listed anything in BST since joining TSD. Don't even remember ever selling any gear. I like doing trades when both parties get something they want. Somewhere out there is a Schick type F, a vintage OC TTO, or some such oddity that would get me to flip this extra old Gillette. I've been talked into trading Fat Boys for tubs of soap, too. Didn't need a photo to follow along until the SE. Great gear Patrick! That's what our 30DC is all about Danny. Which one of us is Betty? I'm with you Joe. Growing up in Chicago, I thought Lynyrd Skynyrd was Country music. Now Country sounds like Rock n Roll from 20-30 years ago. Fortunately I found Nerd Core.
Follow the link below to learn about the new Blood on Steel scent!!! Also - the link for ordering it will be up later today. Rod is getting it added to his website this morning. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Hanae-Mori/HM-1579.html
June 25 Good morning, guys! Well the last random pick was not random because it was the only razor left standing. It is my 6/8 Ralph Aust Sp pt with black scales. This is straight razor shave #85. Decided to use my Rocky synthetic to lather Stirling Satsuma! Achieved a nice lather. Seriously, how can anyone not get a good lather with Stirling soaps? This orange scent is awesome! Anyway 2 passes and 1/ 2 pass touchup gave a perfect BBS shave. There wasn't any redlining or any irritation today! Finished with the matching aftershave with very little sting. This was a wonderful shave! Well, I shaved with all of my 18 razors this month, so it wraps up my blind random razor pick this month. Therefore, I will be using my Dovo shavette to finish out this month. I enjoyed doing this rule and probably do it again in the near future. Result: Grade 98.5 = A+ Guys, have a great day!
Yes. The way an injector feels on the skin is the closest a safety razor comes to straight razors. If you can use an injector with good results, then straight razors aren't a big leap.
No shave day. While you guys are busy eating cookies, I’m here with the beautiful people. Sitting here in my fishing shirt, I’m playing the role of Waldo in the easiest game of Where’s Waldo (or what’s wrong with this picture) ever played... AKA redneck at the Ritz.
Congrats on SR #85. That is a great accomplishment and a great shave. When you reach # 100 your name will be added to the straight razor hall of fame!
My wife just rolls her eyes and laughs. The only thing I’m likely to pick up here are condescending looks. On the other hand I’m creating memories for the other guests: Buffy, remember when we went on the vacation to the beach and they let that fat guy lay out on the beach with us? Oh, Muffy, it wasn’t just a fat guy; it was a fat guy in a fishing shirt! Gag me with a spoon!
Thank you, Danny! That will be reached in a few months because I have to catch up with my shavette shaves. I only have 75. I want to reach 100 shaves for each type of razor.
Ahh, she'll bring all the grub. Watching them eat together(unless they set their own times lol)will be fun.
Ready to hear a confession? Well you're gonna anyway. You know how I 've been insulting P&G's version of Old Spice by calling it New Spice and attacking their "Smellmittment" theme. I was in the Piggly the other day(I give up...might as well be Piggly the way you guys always have fun with my grocery shopping)and I happened upon some New Spice deodorants. I am forced to admit that the Hawkridge became in concert with my satisfaction. The scent is not too different from that of Aqua Velva(both are blue in color). I might even-I can't believe I'm about to say this-BUY IT sometime.
