  11. Bill, it definitely brings back some good memories. Unfortunately, the hearing loss is permanent. :)

  12. I thought I would have a comment about going to an additional(3rd)pass on the Chiseled Face this morning, but I was able to load well enough to be quite satisfied with my normal 2. I got to thinking maybe a 3rd pass would be needed for XXXmilled soaps, and I have two-a Razorock(Lime Burst)and a WSP(Mahogony). The white of the CF puck is beginning to show-(the bottom) good indication, of course, that I'm getting closer to finish it. Oh, I forgot, another reason I didn't do 3rd pass is that I had a few weepers on the second.

  13. I made a chat room friend laugh when I said "Now WHY is it that a nice, easy-going, soft-spoken, good-natured, positive-minded, cynicism-hating man like me loves to crank up loud BOSTON music from time to time?" :)

    June 27th

    Proraso PS Red
Wild West Brushworks 2 Band Badger
    Castle Forbes Cedarwood & Sandalwood
    New Azumi ‘Yasuki Steel’ Kamisori
    Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood AS

3 pass CCS+ today. DFS on the cheeks, most of the neck, but an unusual difficult time around the mouth and chin. First two passes were tough. Used the PS both times, as I could tell this kami was not cleaning the growth as well as I’d like. On the third pass, better, but this razor will get another honing session. No weepers or drama.

The WWB 2 band badger and Castle Forbes made a great lather. This version of Castle Forbes is thirsty though. Odd. 2-3 times the normal amount of water I use to get slick ‘easily washed off the blade’ goodness. The cedar and sandalwood aroma is loud. No sweet fragrance here, it’s all wood. The Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood AS was a nice finish to balance things.

This Kamisori was one of three in a package purchase a couple weeks ago from the bay. On this sample, I only did some polishing, a touch up on the Shapton 12k stone, and the usual CrOx linen and leather strop treatment. Not enough though, I’ll try some work on the 8k stone, repeat the 12k/strop work and see if that helps for next time.

Hope everyone has a wonderful THURSDAY!
