Tonight's shave was with a razor, of unknown "Origin". Possibly USA, Possibly Solingen. I had a Silky smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Even smooth as can be, ATG. Zero sting with Alcohol based aftershave.

    Razor- Bengalia. J.J.N.Y.
    Brush- Omega Boar. 10098
Soap- Turkish . "More For You"
Aftershave- Avon Spicy. Triple Crown Decanter.

    Brush- Omega 10098 Boar
Soap- "More For You". Turkish Soap.like Arko on steroids.

I love the scales on that razor. Just curious about the Avon aftershave; do they still sell those? Or did you find that in the back corner of someone's basement? I bet there's still some bottles like that in my parent's cellar, probably there since the 1970's.

Thanks. The blade looks decent too, but the photo gave it some weird shadows.
As for the Avon Spicy. They do not make it anymore. This bottle is full of the Spicy aftershave, and still smells great. It is probably around 40-50 years old.
EBay is the way to go, for vintage aftershave. The Avon Spicy is my second favorite, next to Vintage Shulton made Old Spice.

May I inquire about the scale material?

Looks like celluloid to me, but I could be wrong.

The grain look got my interest.

I had a mk31 that had the grain look to it but was for sure plastic. It looks too even and uniform to be ivory grain.

But like I said I could be mistaken especially since I haven’t seen the razor in person.

Pumas were celluloid. All of the ‘faux ivory’ imitated the Schreger lines present in ivory, some better than others. Most vintage genuine ivory scales did not have collars on the pins, if it has pin collars, it’s plastic, at least 99% of the time. That’s the first thing to look for. Secondly, most vintage ivory scales were very thin, almost paper thin - ivory could do that.

Maiden voyage of the new-to-me MK 32. Edge was great, very keen and smooth, but a little more AS tingle than I get from the best jnat edge. So I’ll be re-finishing it sometime soon. Cream was D. R. Harris Marlborough lathered with a Lifetooshort1971 three-band tulip style. A splash of Myrsol AB finished things up.

Decent shave this morning. I haven't touched this razor in a long time. Just stropped it and shaved. It seems to me, I remember a gimmick about this razor or a sharpening technique that went with the razor. I googled it, but couldn't any info on it now.
