13/16 Cordonnier À Orleans (literally ‘cobbler at Orleans)’French rattler/faux frameback. Cream was ABC lathered with a Simpsons 57 and a dab of ABC almond balm finished up a great shave.

Excellent shave this morning with a 4/8 Ator. I've had this razor a long time but haven't used it much and that's a shame. It's a great shaver for it's size (if that matters). This brush might look like a race horse but as far as I'm concerned it's an old nag on it's way to the glue factory, no love. Have a good one.

Tonight's shave was with a top of the line, German made razor. I had a very nice 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. One of my favorite brands.

    Razor- F.W.Engel's "Special". Solingen Germany
    Brush- Omega 10098 Boar
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood scented
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. The Admiral Decanter.

    Cold Water Rinse
Jeeves of Hudson Street Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #369 Synthetic
    J.A. Henckels 5/8
    CWR
    Pinaud Clubman

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Jeeves of Hudson Street Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #369 Synthetic brush. I did one pass with the J.A. Henckels 5/8 razor. It was very smooth and left little for the clean up. I decided to use my Enders Speed Razor with my new blade holder and Personna blade for the clean up and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    2 salamanders (2).jpg

I did a DD using the two Salamader razors (1920-26) in my collection. One is a wedge grind while the other more hollow ground. These are not highly collectable, but you won't see many posted for sale or in good shape. The hollow ground Salamander is not often seen by me.

I honed the Our Wedge type last night after receiving. I started with 30 Mu films and progressed to 12 and then 9 Mu. I then went to a Coticule stone with slurry to clear under running water followed by the same with a Thuringian stone. This progression was followed by stropping on diamond paste on a piece of balsa wood board. I used an old Illinois #50 hanging strop of 25 on the linen and 60 on horse hide.

Shave #9 on the user blue Filly 14 Sub Cero, cream was Dior Eau Sauvage lathered with a Simpsons 58. I’ve got to mow the yard later so I passed on the Dior balm and EdT in favor of Myrsol Limon. I’ll lay on a spritz of Eau Sauvage EdT later if I’m in the mood for it. Absolutely perfect shave, 10/10 and dolphin smooth.

Thank you, Kevin @HolyRollah rescaled her for me. The rescale really makes the razor pop IMHO.
