  1. Fantastic shave and report, Blair! As an Italian descendent, we are also known for great masonry work. We invented the arches which is the sturdiest designs in construction engineering.
  2. I like to use the Rise with Skin Bracer and Aqua Velva in the summers(that is, when I feel like being a "Can Man"), but as I am about 1/2way through my final can, I suppose I'll have to get used to not having it around. Gonna take a LOONG time to finish the Razorock Lime Burst. As I wrote in my JULY entry, I'm going with thed 40-second load time for that and other real thick soaps I have.
  3. I thought it was self explanatory, look at my comment again.

  8. Thank you, Andrew!
I think it was March of last year when received my Stirling samples. SDM was an immediate standout for me.

  11. July 1
It's a new month and this is my first shave this morning! Starting out with my Dovo shavette and it is #78 with this razor. I decided to use the long Personna hairshaper blade this morning. Since it is a new month, I also decided to use my Razorock XX soap for the first time. I bloomed the soap and used my Pro 49 to face lather the RR XX. I have previously used the RR Classic soap and I have gotten an average lather with both. It is not as thick and luxurious as Stirling. The scent is not long lasting and the protection and cushion is meh! Now, it may just be that I have to really be carefull of the water/soap ratio, but I highly doubt it. This shave was one of my worst since being a member. I got a cut and a few weepers. I tried to have a very light touch because the blade was brand new and sharp. I was doing well until my second pass and the Perfect Red Storm hit with a vengeance. I was going laterally across my upper lip and the blade dug in to open up a cut. The weepers were on my chin and slightly above my jaw line.I decided to stop the shave and not do any cleanup or a 1/2 pass. Despite all this, I finished with a IBSS+. I used styptic pen and witchhazel to get these things under control. Applied Old Spice AS to give me some satisfaction of normalcy. Looking at me, you would say that I have a nice shave, but the cut belies that assessment. Well, it was not what I wanted for starting out the month, but I have to accept the lows with the highs in shaving.
    Result: Grade 91 = A-

  15. I'm in, though no shave today. I ended last month with a Schick B1 and Proline B, resulting in a baby dolphin smooth shave.
  16. Thanks, Jim! I have had the same problem with average cushion and protection when I also used the RR Classic. From now on, I will only use RazoRock soap with a safety razor.
