I am up and moving entirely too early for a supposed day off. Since my wife has to work today, I will log in remotely and get some work done. In order to make it easier to load, I had to move the remaining Shiloh soap back to the center of the container. As expected the "Soap Destroyer" tore through the soap. This particular CH2 synthetic is prior generation brush. You can see it is labeled Synthetic Badger where the current generation is labeled Synthetic Bristle. It is also the knot is larger and more dense. I can't say I have a preference. Three passes and touch ups along my jawline ended with me missing the baby. A splash of the matching Shiloh aftershave and I am ready for a little work and a lot of relaxing.

Definitely an interesting blade. I'm curious about the cutout in the middle. Meant to fit more than just Gem razors?

  16. I had a bad feeling about the result of this morning's shave from the very beginning. The Celtics Mascot brush didn't perform as well as it had in previous uses-just couldn;'t get it to load well. Then I suddenly began to realize, 'Oh no, I think I had the soap in the fridge too long. Must be why it's a little harder than usual.' I did take it out last night and place it in the bathroom ready to go, but it still lacked the "cold softness" I thought it might have. At this point, I'd like to apologize to Doc Ezlovan for not trusting the soap enough to stay "Glacial" even without fridge use. Of course the Doc(and/or whoever at Stoylin does the soap preparation)know what they're doing when filling a "Glacal Soap" order. And I felt worse when I considered, I never put Aqua Velva in the fridge to"maintain it's coolness"-it just STAYS as it is even in a shave den. And, come to think of it, when I had the Glacial Wintergreen a couple years ago, THAT never found a place in my fridge. Maybe I felt that since my current glacial SDM is in cake form, I should keep it cool. (Course the Wintergreen was a full 5.8 oz. tub.)

Now, the shave itself. Because of the weak loading from the Mascot, I ended up getting just "bits and pieces" of soap on my face and neck. Did the first pass anyway, knowing I'd have to "reload" for the second, not just use the remainder of what was on the brush. That did help me get the better 2nd pass. And the Eskimo Tuxedo was a nice finisher.

Gonna repeat with the same players tomorrow, except a different brush(to see if I can load better)...and no more fridge use for an already chilly shave product. Wow..lessons learned this morning!!
  17. Great picture, Clint!

The Veg didn't make a snap decision about choosing me but I "endeavored to persevere" putting it to use weekly.
