  1. Sounds good, Rick. I'm excited for you. You'll have a blast.

The phone thing...we eventually decided to keep our phones on airplane mode whenever we travel out of the country. We then enable Wi-Fi and use the Wi-Fi calling feature. This allowed us to use our phone to make and receive calls from the U.S. without paying extra to get international service. (You still have to pay to make International calls...even if you are located in that country with your U.S. phone. If that's the case, Google Voice is a pretty good deal.) It should be a simple set up on your phone. There are also some apps you can use for calls and messaging when you have Wi-Fi. WhatsApp is a good one. There are probably 47 other, better ways to make phone calls. Dudes like @Keithmax would know.

One more thing...take some nice ear buds or headphones unless you wan to use the cheap plastic ones on the plane. You might as well rock out in style as you cross the pond.
  2. Love the picture and some very nice gear!

  7. Cool shave, Danny. Corrado Cutlery is an old Chicago store. My Dad was a knife collector, and we visited it when I was a kid. A super cool place that is now closed, I believe. My Dad purchased a bunch of knives, including an old cutlery salesman's knife with pearl handles and 100 different kinds of blades. Unfortunately, money was tight, and that knife got resold fairly quickly. The gentlemen that my Dad met, assume he was the owner, gave my sister a manicure set and gave me my first Swiss Army knife. He also took us on a walking tour of the downtown area around the store. Good memories.

You realize that you have a Yankee razor in your possession. I won't tell anyone. :p
  8. Thanks, Danny!

  9. No idea, I’m am still not a master at honing. I nail it 80% of the time. On this razor I will go back and try it with a layer of tape.

When traveling international you want to look like a tired business man, you will get hassled far less. Even when traveling for vacation I wear slacks and a button shirt, dress for the way you want to be treated. You will be surprised the difference in the treatment you get. I even shave before going to the airport.

Wait till you see what I got in exchange.

While you popsicle razor looked awesome, that is one fine looking straight you used today.

Use WiFi or paying for data roaming. My phone company offers $8 a day unlimited data roaming. You can then also use this for pad, at least with an iPhone. There are a lot of good text and calling apps.

For headphones you want noise canceling for the plane. I use wireless ear buds, the big ones make it hard to sleep since you can move your head around.

While I dress up so I get treated properly by the airlines, customs etc, I bing comfortable clothes to change into during the flight.

Keith, compared to some of your prison shives, a little ol' blade between two sticks is nuttin'.

  13. You absolutely should. As far as scent, you'll love it or hate it. Great choice when picking up the hotties at the nursing home.
Great performing soap, and a puck just keeps going and going and...

  15. My wife is actually a licensed Master Barber. She chose not to pursue employment in the field. I was her subject for the board exam. They make you pass a cotton ball test on the shave. Good thing they did not ask me if it was a comfortable shave...... I'd be dead if I told them the truth.

My brother's wife worked as a barber in her best friend's father's shop for 25 years. Never once did a shave. The owner did them occasionally.

  16. Black Cherry was fine.... I got a tub of the glacial and found the cough drop aroma. It does not bother me since it disapates quick. I do like the menthol though.
