Dad has an old Ford tractor that needs that treatment. I helped him load it on his car hauling trailer last year. It's still sitting there unrepaired. He didn't like the price quote from the mechanic. It's not a job I'd take on. Your dad's a hero, or just doing what needs done.
Great shave Joe. I don't have a problem with the Omega 49 per se. It is a great knot in a plastic handle. I have had several over the years and harvested the knots for other projects. This last one was to go into the Alpha 400 ferrule but honestly the knot looked like crap compared to my Zenith brushes. Lots of missed matched bristles and an off color. For several dollars more I could have purchased a plastic handle Zenith boar brush. For that extra money I would have had a great looking knot with uniform bristles. Another big plus is the lack of break in time required for a Zenith boar.
Menthol Monday! Software today was Cold River Soap Works Limenthol and Stirling Glacial Lime aftershave. Weapon of choice was an Above The Tie Calypso. It's been a while since I used this razor, and it showed. Lots of weepers. I don't remember it being all that harsh. I'll have to keep it out for a few more days.
Jim. I love that sweet looking Chevelle. GM built some cars with personality in those days. I grew up with my Mom driving us around in a '67 Camaro. Coolest Mom car ever. One of my first cars was a used two-door 1970 Buick LeSabre. It was a thirsty cruisemobile with an attitude. Very spacious and well-organized garage as well. We still have a two-car garage (our lot is not deep enough for a three-car), but we have an extra four feet of width. That makes a big difference when you have Grandpa (Camry) and Grandma (Avalon) cars under roof.

It has got a lot more complicated. Our John Deere Skidder are completely run by wire with about 6 computers on board keeping it all humming hopefully.
That was years ago when dad was a lot younger and providing for a young family. Dad never did back down from a challenge and always worked hard. Mechanics used to do a lot of repairs in the field and now they send them to the shop.
