I have one last brush that needed a shave stand. With this one completed, all of my LE/SE brushes have display stands. The brush is a The Shave Nook 5th Anniversary LE. The brush is made by H. L. Thater (Germany). The knot is a 2-band badger. The stand is made of Marblewood and Bloodwood. I did the sculpting with a Dremel tool then finished with hand sanding.

This is the only brush I have with a Thater knot. It is excellent.

    Thanks for looking.

That's a nice stand, Ed. I really like the looks of that knot, too.

As I said, my one and only Thater and it is a keeper. Do you have any experience with Thater knots? Thanks.

I build trinket boxes from exotic hardwoods. I make the stands with the scraps left over. In the attached picture:

    1. Some wood strips. I kinda use my imagination when selecting the wood type/color.
    2. My handle template to determine the size of the mount for the handle.
    3. One of the drill bits I use to drill the mount.
    4. After drilling the hole, I glue the top, bottom and back together and then sculpt/sand the stand to the desired shape.
    5. Then the finish. Right now I am using Renaissance Micro-Crystalline Wax Polish.

Hope this helps. Thanks for asking.

Great idea that you can have two different bore sizes on the same stand. Just flip the stand over for a different brush. I alway dry mine hanging but store them on their handle. Great job.
