I have used the Omega 49 knot in a restored Rubberset 400 that I made for myself and eventually gave to Doug. That knot was even in color and looked good. Honestly this last knot looked horrible in comparison. If I have $80+ in a handle plus hours of hand polishing, a knot's appearance matters to me. If I were going to use the brush on as delivered the appearance doesn't matter as much. So for this project I decided to use the Maggard Razor SHD 2 band knot instead. As for my latest Omega 49 it will stay in the cabinet until it ends up in a future PIF box.

Oh I have already installed the SHD into the Alpha 400 and used it three times. It is a fantastic knot. In fact I recommended it to Mark for one of his upcoming brush handles.

While at Seven Falls, did a portrait with someone we knows caricature...it was just beggin’ me to. Girls did some stand up paddling, a little shopping, then finished the day here. Front Range BBQ. Highly recommended. BBQ and Cajun fare, so we had to partake. I think I’ll be able to eat on Friday now....
Soldiering on with the Stahly and Enders Speed, approaching the 30 day mark. Looks like bringing two sticks of Palmolive for this trip will be the right call. No sign of rust or corrosion on the Enders shim which is great given the wet environment (tropical weather, no good ventilation in this bathroom). Some terribly uncomfortable weather in the offing.
