  1. Motorcycles and guns might have you going other places to play. Shaving keeps you home and pretty. She knows what she's up to.

  2. You show great restraint Joe. My type of brush knot ratio is similar though I have a few more total. Much the same feelings about how each knot performs, too. Clint @clint64 has transcended our pedestrian badger knot selection and has provided a storehouse of experience and knowledge that might save us and others from making purchasing mistakes. For myself I'm considering only 2 band knots, thinking flat top, and liking what I hear about the Maggard SHD. I understand you have put your purchasing points into straights. We each choose our path, few traveling directly to the Minimalist goal of exactly the same perfectly selected gear every shave. I'm enjoying wandering afield and have no overwhelming desire to reach the final destination of only one "perfect" setup.

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    EDRIO# 91 Valet Auto Strop VC1
    Gem Stainless PTFE
    WWB Invasion (24mm, Frigate Class)
    Tallow and Steel Maya soap
    Stirling Black Pepper Lime AS

First time using a Valet razor. Loading the de-spined blade was a very dicey process and I probably should have used a set of pliers, luckily I didn't cut myself. Lots of blade feel and I found I had to come off the cap a little as it wanted to suction itself to my face if I left the razor flat against my face. Starting with a damp brush the Tallow and Steel soap base quickly becomes sticky and stringy. Slowing working in water allows a super goop lather to form and it is definitely top tier performance and post shave feel. Stirling Black Pepper Lime paired nicely with it's tang from the lines and earthiness from the black pepper. Three careful passes ended in a very close BBS shave out of a very edgy feeling razor. Have a great day my friends!

    Hump day!

  15. I just received my Stirling BoS SS, the AS and the Stirling boar brush, today! I will be using these items on my next shave. Courtesy of TSD member BBS via his $25 gift certificate donation to the Father's Day Raffle that I won.
  16. That is cool. Both my girls got along well as kids. It is fun to watch Maya ask her older sister for advice now.
  17. O.k., this may not turn out to good but we shall see. Lowes could not find their Personna carbon carpet cutter blades but had these. They appear to be stainless steel. Hair test on the arm was better than expected. I'll try them in the morning and see how it goes. I do have a strop attachment and I may have to try it out if the first round is unsuccessful. The strop attachment is on the Demonstrator. The Dorset is built like a tank. We shall see how this comes together in the morning. 20190710_134336.jpg 20190710_134352.jpg
