Hard to explain to people that don't own or use a vice. Mine is a small vice I use when building an AR15 or working on one of the pistols.

Thank you Joseph. I had actually worked on so many Rubberset 400s that I was tired of the polishing. Stupid me bought the Alpha 400 thinking I would get to skip the hours of polishing. Right away I knew I should have paid more and bought the BSB 400 replica

Make sense to use the ridges in the handle to your advantage. You just need a slight amount of pressure to hold the handle in place and the ridges will keep a "grip" and keep the handle from rotating. We will not be needing a cylinder press for sure. The 400 is is small scale work.

I knew you would understand. Afraid some would not understand and screw something up. Unfortunately, that is the way I have learned a lot of my lessons.

Interesting points, Clint. You are bang on with the lack of absolutes when it comes to brushes.
One area I do think a little differently- I think the soap goes hand in hand with the brush experience. For quite a few years before diving into Safety Razors, I used soap and a brush with carts. I consider the quality soap a necessary partner with a quality brush. I wouldn't use one without the other.

So true. For years I used whatever soap that was available at the local store. Then I gave up and just went with can stuff for years. Now with better soaps I really enjoy the brush and soap even more. I never really had a problem using carts but I wanted to try something different and thought I would save money :happy102:

I am excited so I just had to share. My wife is going to London and Barcelona for couple of weeks at the end of the month. I booked my flight to Barcelona and will be joining her for a month. We took the girls to Barcelona in 2011 before I got into wet shaving. So I am thinking it might be a could idea to scope out some of the local shaving related items while she is at work during the day. If possible I want to see the Myrsol shop. Anyone else have any suggestions?

I have learned a lot from doing the same thing. Dad always said "bought experience was the best experience".

Today's Williams Wednesday lather was a repeat of last week's - some added menthol, and a couple of drops of peppermint oil. A nice, slick, cold lather. Can't beat it.
I used the Micromatic with the Gold Tone blade again. With this blade I need a little more touching up than I normally do with a Micromatic. But the result was smooth and bloodless. Chased with a splash of Pacific Rush.
