After 48 hours without a shave I cleaned up with a Parker shavette, Mike’s and my Everset brush. Enjoying the cool weather and looking at sheep.
We have separation! This has been a scary process because I have seen threaded connections gauld and not come apart. I first used Clint suggestions and wrapped about 4 layers of electrical tape and used channel locks but the tape would slide and I was afraid of scarring the ferrule. I then cut the knot flush with the ferrule and then drilled a hole through the knot. I then set the handle on its end and filled it up with penetrating oil and then with some mineral spirits. After soaking for about a day and half I put the strap wrench to it at the base of the ferrule. I thought it was not going to break loose but it finally it started to turn. Now comes the fun part of knot removal and polishing.
Razor: Supply V2 2 Dot Blade: Schick (1) Brush: Semogue Owners Club Mistura Badger and Boar Taj Handle Soap: Crown King Bay Rum Aftershave: Ogallala Bay Rum Limes & Peppercorn Bowl: Junichi Tanaka Lathering Bowl Blue. A great shave with the Supply given to me by Guy (@ram57). It is a great razor with good weight to it. The SOC Badger & Boar made the Ogallala Bay Rum explode into a rich thick lather. The end result was a BBS. Most of you know I don't use the BBS term very much. When I do use it, it means a great shave.
July 12th Razorock Blackhawk V2 w Feather Pro Stirling Finest/Maple handle Castle Forbes Lime Thayers 'Enhanced' Florida Water Early morning shave, afternoon post. Pulled out the Blackhawk this morning for no particular reason beyond the fact that I felt I handn't reached for it recently. Blade was in it already and is still good. Whipped up the simply, nicely scented Lime and had 3 passes that left me very smooth. Top notch shave for sure. Finished with the overly M Bombed Florida Water, which worked today as the weather gets warm. Off to the lake for the weekend after work...looking forward to it for sure as the weather is forecasted to be turning nice. Have a great weekend, all!
