Now, I had planned to use a new instrument(shavette), but it came with a tuck of carbon steel treet blades. I called an audible, figuring "how can i deem the new instrument good or bad, without ever trying the blade?". So I loaded one of these blades into a very mild reliable standard ole tech. I also color themed the shave to match(your welcome). Black blade, black razor, black handle brush, sooo, black ice could be my only choice.
Three Passes later, I'm smooth as silk and freezing(I'm still numb). Now the puzzle, Did the carbon steel blade perform so great, or did my technique just catch the baby? Why haven't I ever heard of using carbon steel blades, nobody here prefers them?
Wow what a perfect shave.
Hope y'all did as well, or better.

I used one once. Probably before my technique was any good, because, I don't remember getting that great of a shave. Might be time for a revisit.

First rig shave have had in a about a year. Draggy? Not sure why. Slick lather, new blade, love the razor. Gonna try it again this weekend and see if it was user error.

Youngest son [#3] picked up by the LA Angels yesterday! He was pitching in the cape cod league. Minor league ball ahead of him now. Just back from TJ surgery. Velo back to low 90's. Going to do some celebrating tonight!
