    Good afternoon, guys!
    Dovo Shavette Shave #85
    Personna Hairshaper Blade (3)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Piacenza SS and AS
    Well guys, I have equaled the number of shavette shaves with traditional straight razor shaves once again with 85 each. I am right on target on fulfilling my promise to do my first honing with lapping film after the first 2 weeks of this month. I guess I am going to sink or swim this week! Lol! Ok, let me get back to this report. It is funny, everytime I use Piacenza, I usually get a great shave without fail. I just love this scent! Rocky and Stirling came through to give me a terrific face lather. Two and one-half passes gave me a fantastic and quite comfortable shave. I would have waited to shave tomorrow, but I have a casual social event tonight so I need to look my best! The Piacenza aftershave really made it a nice finish for the shave. Again, this week will be my first attempt to honing some of my razors that seem to be dulling. My first attempt will be the first straight that I owned, the Dovo Special. I will also do my Dovo Best as well. I am looking forward to entering in this new dimension of straight shaving. I can't believe it is almost 9 months since I started using a shavette and 8 months a traditional straight. Time flies when you are having fun. That's enough of my rambling!     Thanks Terry! However, it has been 7 months with youse guys in my extremely pronounced and phony NY accent. When I joined right before Christmas, I had 2 months experience with the Dovo shavette and 1 month and half with traditional straights running concurrently.

    Saturday afternoon July 13 - refreshment break

    Supply Co Single Edge matte black V2 two-dot plate / Personna (?)
    Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles brush
    Stirling Iced Pineapple shaving soap and splash

    It's hot and muggy here today. I am answering phone calls from arrested drunks from my home, which isn't air conditioned. I thought a quick shave to remove a few days' stubble would be a refreshing break. I was right.

    The Iced Pineapple duo was a natural choice and paired well with a cool water shave. I was shaving doing passes and rinses in between calls. After the fact I can see I didn't do a brilliant job -- I missed a few patches of remnant stubble with my clean-up pass so I have some rough looking spots under my chin and on my neck. So a DFS- or CCS at best. But I feel cleaner and more alert and look better, and that's the main thing.

    Thanks, Jim! I am going to have fun with it and I will not be discouraged because I know it will be my first attempt. I remember my first attempt shaving with my Dovo shavette and beginnining my first stroke. I was so excited that I was taking whiskers off my face without cutting myself. I did one pass without cuts and that first shave gave me the confidence to continue. It was all good because I would not have found TSD and get to know you guys if I had a terrible first day! I am believing the same thing will be true with honing this week. It won't be great, but there will be an improvement with the razors.

    Very true Joe!
    I find it helpful to be missing the gene responsible for sanity when hold of an open blade razor.
    I can see it now, honing and sharpening your razor. The evil music, playing in the background.
    Plans for a perfectly smooth shave come daylight. :signs136:
