  1. Happy B-day Paul!
    What's her name?

  2. Thank you Rick. her name is beagle bailey, originally just bailey, it’s a joke that stuck. Mrs76 though that the cartoon strip was beagle bailey not beetle. So she’s been known as the beagle ever since, even though she’s a basset hound.

  3. Thank you Danny. I’m glad too, this last week was a little rough. Had a lot of mechanical failures on the two directional bore machines I was using to get four shots across a parking lot in downtown St. Louis, too many thick old building foundations still in the ground.

  4. Well, it looks like you are right Charlie. Available in liquor stores here in BC:

    That’s about $80 USD...

  6. That's not surprising, Jason. About 18 months ago, it was $60 US at the Buffalo Trace gift shop and $54 US at a local retail store (2 bottles on the shelf, only time I've seen it outside the distillery).

This is the current listing from a local retailer:

I'm glad I tried it, but I doubt I'd buy it again. Too many other good alternatives for less money.

  7. I was going to get the Chevelle out today too but the battery has met its end.

  8. She sets me back in the seat.
I had the opportunity to spend a few days on a racetrack driving a Z06. By the third day my skills had improved enough to realize the capability of these cars and it's amazing the speed that can be carried through a turn and the force it can accelerate out in an unmodified factory car. My jaw hurt for several days afterwards from the constant grin I had for those three days.

  9. Hope things go better next week. Been a crazy week for me. Dad has been in the hospital since Sunday, don't look like he is doing much better. Been to see him everyday at lunch and taking mom out every afternoon when I get off work. Mom is pretty much in a wheel chair due to a stroke and let just say she does not like to cooperate. Take care.

  11. I'm unforgiving and never give batteries a second chance.

FWIW, the vette is ok too.

  12. Jim, go to Harbor Freight and get you a float charger if you do not have one. I keep one on my Vette and several tractors and they pay for their selfs. My Vette had been sitting for about 8 months and the battery was hot. Battery is 4 years old.

  15. I was the passenger in one running 141 mphs. Felt like the car was mounted on rails, smooth and you could carry on a conversation like you was sitting in your living room. Brakes on those cars are unbelievable. My old 73, sqeaks, rattles and the floor board gets extremely hot but that is what c3s do. If you like a c3 you just deal with it. Fasted I ever got mine up to was 112 mph. She still had a lot more to go but the wind coming across fiberglass at that speed is not very calming. Oh yeah the 4 barrel opens up at 92 mph when you just ease into it. I love hearing Quadrajet back barrels opening up through a cowl induction hood at the windshield . Ain't nothing like it!

  16. The Chevelle is a handful to drive aggressively. She's nose heavy with that 396ci lump of cast iron out front. Big steering wheel and the distance between gears on the old Muncie make it a blast from the past.

  19. Thanks, Clint! This is an important step for me in my straight shaving experience. There will be some razors that I will send out such as my near wedge Wostenholm and probably my Friodur. The rest I will attempt to hone. One way or another, I know this is the most important part of owning and maintaining a straight razor. I am not worried. I am going in with the same attitude like I did with my first straight shavette shave.
