    That's what I surmised based on your earlier comment. Admittedly, it isn't hard to lose the angle. This is how I see it. One, if you lift the blade and lose the angle, then land the blade flat and raise it one to no more than 2 spine lengths. The other possibility is to keep your hand stationary and locked at the angle when you lift the blade which is my method. If there is another way, then let me know.

    Thanks, Danny! The good thing is that I didn't screw up this razor because I still got an excellent shave. Looking back, knowing the provenance (history) of this razor, I should have done more strokes on each film. Hey, it's a learning process and at least my honing technique with lapping film is fine. It's all good.

    Thanks, Andrew! It still was an excellent shave and honing is hit or miss at times. If my honing technique was bad, I wouldn't have gotten BBS shaves with both razors. Half hollow razors feel and shave differently than full hollows and that is partially the reason why it didn't feel as sharp as my full hollow. I am comparing apples to oranges. My near wedge is sharp, but it doesn't feel sharp, same idea.

    Blade: Schick (2)
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Synthetic LE Jade
    Soap: Crown King Bay Rum
    Aftershave: Ogallala Bay Rum Limes & Peppercorn
    Bowl: Junichi Tanaka Lathering Bowl Blue.

    This was an amazing shave from start to finish. The brush is out of this world when it comes to whipping up an outstanding lather. The Supply razor mowed down the stubble like Puff The Magic Dragon mowed down the jungle. The aftershave, after a real good shaking was fantastic. Sorry, don't mean to be so negative. :)
