I'm working this morning on unpacking boxes of books and loading them onto shelving. The front dining room of our new house will become the library. We have plenty of dining space in our kitchen and we needed a place for my books and other junk. Maybe I can take a photo in a little while when it looks better.

First use of my second tub of Mike's Bay Rum. This guy moves around.
Brooklyn, Ann Arbor and now I see he's located in Portland, OR.
Well, wherever he hangs his hat, he has not lost his ability to create an excellent...strike that---superior shave soap.

The Rubberset ripped into the Bay Rum soap with abandon and delivered a magnificent lather.
I LOVE this Bay Rum. Smells exactly like Dominica. No burn either.
Lapped the Friodur on the CrOx/SRP strops.
Wicked edge on this blade.
Stuck with the newly-adopted technique and lightened the pressure ever so slightly.
End result was a very good shave with zero weepers.
IF I had to choose between a BBS with weepers and a DFS without...

The Dominica concluded a lovely, Saturday shave and I am smellin' like a classy pirate.​

Just between you and me, Cartel Detention ain't that bad once they know you hang with @NCoxSTL. Along with the high speed impternet, you get a new Voskhod blade every morning and all the borscht you can eat.


Just don't be like @wchnu. He made some wisecracks, and it landed him in this cell:

Joseph, nice shave, and I like the way you describe straight razor shaving. You've come a long way, and I have enjoyed following along on your journey. It's always a treat to see what gear you're using.

Very nice photo and post, Joseph! I'm not straight shaving but I would always choose a lower grade shave without weepers. They annoy me. I still have one every now and then with my various safety razors.
