Tuesday morning July 23 Rockwell 6s on plate 3 / Personna Lab Blue (1) Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles brush Stirling Port au Prince soap sample Lucky Tiger After Shave and Face Tonic Cleaned off a couple days of stubble this morning. I haven't used the Rockwell for awhile and had forgotten what a heavy but smooth razor it is. The Stirling soap is a sample I received a few months ago from Jason @jtspartan. He warned me that it smells quite strongly and he was right. The vetiver is almost musty smelling but not unpleasant. And the soap has that superb Stirling mutton tallow performance. I had used it a couple times before. I think I will stick with it now until it is gone -- maybe by the end of the month, maybe a little longer than that. Hope everybody is having a decent week so far!
I've been curious about real world AS vs soap consumption rates. Cause it seems like I'm never going to see the bottom of either a tub of soap or a bottle of AS anytime soon Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Thanks, Andrew. So far I'm doing well -- as the jumper said as he passed the 35th floor of the 40-storey building...
I am curious about the AS vs soap consumption on the SV soaps. They are very hard soaps and I am almost sure I will run out of the matching aftershaves first.
Keep a tuck of blades and spare Flare Tip in your shave kit. He won't stand a chance. Make sure you explain PIF and give him the address to the 30 DC!
Thanks Andrew! Using "old man" shaving paraphernalia comforts me. Lol! Seriously, I like Williams and Aqua Velva because they are good products. Williams neutralizes the soap scents on a brush so that I can use a another soap without mixing scents.
Thanks Clint! Seeing your Monthly calendar picture you rarely miss a shave. That accounts for double or more my use. Then there's that Chubby synth brush. Some guys like Clint have it, then there's the rest of us Joe. I've been at this five years and have yet to finish off a puck. Must take two kinds of will power. First - stick to a couple particular products. Then when you figure out how to not buy more let me know. Thanks Andrew! Jared @PickledNorthern hard core enabled me into trying it. If/when I replace it I'm getting the big bottle. It's got a good menthol hit and the minty scent is fairly long lasting.
@Linuxguile, Andrew, the Proraso Green AS has a nice scent and you do feel the menthol. The soap has more of a menthol kick, but it is a nice, comfortable cool feeling.
I generally have about 25 soaps and creams on hand most of the time. Of those I have quite a few harder soaps that last forever. Most artisan soaps are softer and last about 30-40 shaves give or take. I do shave almost every day. It’s rare for me to miss more than 2 or 3 days a year. I also pick a soap and use it a couple of times a week. Plus I load soaps like they owe me money and are past due. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
