Well Basil. This is the new synthetic knot from Plisson. They call it “Evolution“. The difference from the previous synthetic knot which is still on selling, is that has more backbone. It resembles 2 band texugo knots. So, it’s a little more harsher in the tips and then supersmooth when splash. So smooth that some times I don’t feel it or forget it’s there. So with this knot we don’t have the tip smoothness of the previous. The trade off is that is the most efficient ladder builder I’v tried. (And I tried several from Semogue Plisson and Yaqi ). So if you are more into an totally smooth brush, I advise you the previous Plisson Knot or the cashmere Knot (never tried that one but I will) If you want more efficient knot then the “Evolution “ is the choice. In the Plisson site we have another advantage meaning they give a away a Plisson Cream which is a easy outstanding cream in all areas except in the post-shave. Soaps like Nuavia and RR MF are better in the pos-shave. Kind regards

Thanks for the write up. Been looking at a plisson but every time I see a Simpsons chubby I just want one. Now to figure out if I should get the 1/2/3 lol
Leon Pelleray Le Precieux Suedeois frameback, soap was MeC fougere lathered with a Simpsons 57. A splash of Myrsol Limon topped off a perfect shave. Leon Pelleray was a barber supply company established in Paris in 1824. Sometime around the turn of the century the company name at least was sold and there was a Leon Pelleray in Belgium, with a few mentions in the early 1900s, but it was not run by the same folks. Still, a 75 year run is quite respectable for a company in that age. The razor is very good, hard Swedish steel and black horn scales. The horn and style would seem to date it to the late 1800s, but that’s just a WAG.
It’s kind a curious, even I being “not Athens nor Spartacus but a citizen of the world” quoting Socrates, I don’t feel attracted by Simpsons and a couple of days ago a fellow shaver offered me a Chubby 2 for a small price and I didn’t toke it. I guess it has something to do with what S. Freud called “little differences narcissism “ meaning we have to stand apart upon little differences to establish identity traces. So the next brush I’ll buy will be lá tricolore, by Omega. Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk

After almost three weeks on vacation, without shaving, I was rocking more than a 1/2 inch, full beard. I took this English made razor and went to work. It smoothly cut through, like the beard wasn't there. Smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Only problem is, I have a mustache now, and the women in the family will rebel. Razor- Wade & Butcher.
