I sometimes do a one pass atg shave and in-spite of being difficult I take great pleasure in being so quick. Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk
Bill, Alex Gilmore (thejapanstone.com) has done that joining of the edge finishing on Japanese. I’ve done it too following Alex but didn’t feel like that it added much at the end of the finishing on a jnat which slurries. I think the intent in joining the bevels at the end is to take off anu false/unstable edge, but jnat slurry already pretty much does that. On a synth maybe it’s more helpful. Something to try on synths anyway. Yesterday’s shave, La Doucheuse frameback on loan from a good friend that let me take it for a spin, knowing that I like these old French framebacks. It will be on it’s way back home today or tomorrow, and thank you Tom! Soap was MdC agrumes lathered with a M&F L7 Heritage, and a splash of Myrsol Limon finished up. This morning’s shave, CVH MK 32 post war with the scales from the rusty MK 31 that I posted a couple of weeks ago. Nice Frankenhelje, both the scales and razor are from Heljestrands, but the tortoise wasn’t ‘native’ to post war razors. Soap was MdC original lathered with the same M&F Alibaba, and a splash of Agua Balsamica finished it up. A spritz of MdC lavender EdT (not shown) brightened up the morning.
You are most welcome Steve! And I am very happy to see the measurements worked out for transplanting those scales onto the 32... that looks AMAZING!
Today's shave was with an English made razor. I had a very nice 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Zero issues, just silky smoothness all over. Razor- Joseph Rodgers & Sons Brush- B400 By Tom(@twhite ). Omega Boar Knot Soap- RazoRock XXX Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. Mmmm Mmmmm Good.
This Fritz Bracht is a fantastic razor. Fine two pass shave this evening. Looking forward to the next time I use it. Hot water preparation AOS Lavender PSO Mystic Water Brown Windsor T&H Wellington Super Badger Fritz Bracht 25 6/8 Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel Happy shaving - Karl
Beautiful job with the CVH MK 31-1/2 Love it! On the jointing, I'm going to revisit my honing school project that is sharp but shaves rough. See what happens. On knives, everyone wants a great 'steak knife'. A $4 Swiss Victorinox that has the 'edge dragged' will cut steak like butter next to forever.
I’ve had this one going on 4 years. Just like you, I love how it shaves. So nice around the neck for me, seems like it was made for that area.
Thank you Basil, Bill, and Tom. Today, shave #20 on the Filly Sub Cero edge test. Soap was MdC agrumes lathered with a Rooney Beehive Super Badger, and a splash of Myrsol Limon complimented the soap nicely.
Halfmann Special “Souvenir de Ossendorf” Nice weight and a nice double engraving of Solingen on the spine. Enjoy your shave. Tom
