  6. Look at it this way-I was a thousand behind when I first signed up for TSD....thus we're even(although not in the same way, but I won't bring that up).

  7. Thanks Joe
It wasn't bad at all, could see some red when the shaving cream was there. It was really just a staunch reminder to "pay attention to me" from the razor. It's really a great mower, does a great job. I sometimes get a little to laid back when shaving, I know better, but..... some mornings, well....

  10. Yes, it happens to me as well, especially when I am on autopilot. At this point in my SR shaving journey, I take my skills for granted and that's when my risk of cuts, nicks and other errors significantly rise. Split second inattention always gets me. Anyway, shaving is still enjoyable for me.

    July 29th

    Proraso PS Red
    Razorock Blue Fougère SC
    Darwin Drake 2 band badger
    Tanifuji Maxfli Gold
    Razorock Blue Fougère AS

3 pass DFS-. Decent shave today today, no drama, no weepers. Although....the Tanifuji needs to visit the 12k stone. It was 'rough and scrapey' even after seeing CrOx and strop time this morning. Managed to get to a CCS everywhere on the 2nd pass, then dedicated the 3rd pass to short stroke buffing on the neck and chin (similar to what @Primotenore has described working well). While there's a light rough spot here and there (right lower neck)...I didn't want to risk irritation chasing it further.

The Darwin Drake and Razorock SC performed well. Not as overall slick as some of my other SCs, but the Blue Fougère aroma almost makes up for it. Wonderful amount of lather explodes early while loading the brush, along with a dark powdery fougère fragrance, both for the SC and AS. To my newbie nose....I'm thinking a little clove (or Bay Rum mix) added to a solid upfront powdery fougère. The SC comes packaged quite uniquely, a 300 gram brownish 'brick', ~4.5 inch square, 2 inch thick semi soft block. Finished off with the matching AS, with a fair amount of feedback today. Something with most fougère fragrances and me.....long lasting applications, easily catch whiffs of it 6+ hours later.

Hope everyone has a Magnificent Monday!
  14. Nice Clint

  16. It's Monday and the start of a new week. For today, I went with another razor that hasn't seen much usage in a while- my '48-'49 Gillette Milord. For the blade, I went with a fresh X3 Spoiler. A '40s SuperSpeed combined with a great vintage blade; needless to say, it was a great shave though I did catch myself under one nostril with a blade tab- a stupid slip. :)

Hope the rest of you are having as good a start to the week.

Inspired by @Norcalnewb I made this Menthol Monday pretty special.
The Bigelow cream is one of my favs and the eucalyptus scent is extremely refreshing.
The Simpson 59 can lather anything and the amount of glorious foam was stupendous.
Had an urge to use the R41 today and I loaded it with a multi-used Personna 74 blade.
Smoooooooooth and comfortable from start to finish.
2 passes for a BBS shave.
The Proraso AS is a true tonic for the skin.
What a way to start the week!
