Hump day shave: Followed up yesterday's Brian Brown with my other Brian Brown. The weather is terrible, hot and muggy so added my newly acquired (thank you @Queen of Blades ) M Bomb to the lather and had just the right amount of chill. The planets aligned and the result was an epic shave. Razor: 6/8 Brian Brown 1/4 hollow Strop: Roo Brush: Darwin Drake Pre: Proraso Soap: Stirling 30DC LE2 AS: Enhanced DR Harris AS Scent: SMN Acqua di Cuba
Oh, maybe, but I can use the aftershave with other "sources"(namely Barbasol, Gillette). I have a lot of soaps, including 4 Stoylins. Kinda like a "Pasteur's Pharmacy" of shave soaps. Probably not more than most members have, but they'll keep me busy and occupied.
They're nice. I should mention, the SDM I'm working with now is a soap CAKE, not a puck. I like pucks better.
Third use of the BIC in the Stahly was good, maybe a tad rougher. I will try a fourth for kicks. On another forum there is a pretty heated discussion about blade tabs. Stahly which covers the tabs but only 99% or so as there is no problem anyone would have removing the blade from the cap. It uses slotted posts so no adjustment for alignment is either necessary or possible. ------- Classic Khmer lunch yesterday, my girlfriend and former manager prepared together, a soup with a type of spinach and fishball, and a broth way too complicated for me to reproduce, and a grilled prahok dip, prahok being the uniquely Khmer version of chopped fermented fish and spices. Well.... Let's see if I can do this in the morning... Not perfect, kinda foamy but slick, but best yet for this stuff in my water. Might just work, we'll see. tp
Great report Jeff! Looks ok to me Terry. The Williams being slick and all doesn't need a big foamy lather to give a great shave. I'm lucky here as the city water works well with it .
Great shace Robert, cool shave. These types of post is what made me try menthol. And menthol is nice. tp
